contribution made by volunteers.
APARU sponsors two projects carried out by Argentine charities all along 2 fiscal years. To do so, the Executive Committee appoints a group of members that: ● Reviews the selection criteria. ● Communicates the opportunity to charities in Argentina ● Receives and processes applications ● Analyses applications ● Calls for members of APARU to participate in different instances of filtering and selection. ● Submits a shortlist of projects to be voted on by the wide group of APARU’s volunteers. ● Presents a final proposal for approval of the Executive Committee. ● Interviews the representative of the 2 winners to clarify expectations and confirms the selection. Every year APARU transfers half of its profits to each of the selected charities in Argentina. At the end of each year, each of them must report the progress made on their projects and explain how the funds had been used.
INVESTMENT: APARU’s Executive Committee decides on what activities and events to invest on, in line with our main focus areas of support for the local community: Argentine topics and celebrations, practical information for and from Argentinians, Sport challenges and general personal/ professional development.
VOLUNTEERS: APARU does not have any paid employees and all its work is performed by trustees and volunteers (unpaid). Volunteers are not expected to make any financial contribution but to contribute with their time. They worked on the organization of events, creation of communication and social media campaigns, selection and implementation of sport related fundraising campaigns, contact with our Sponsored charities as well as internal and administrative work. They also develop relationships with new donors, sponsors, venues and bring to APARU new potential members.
