To do so, the Executive Committee appoints a group of members that: ● Reviews the selection criteria. ● Communicates the opportunity to charities in Argentina ● Receives and processes applications ● Analyses applications ● Submits a shortlist of projects to be voted on by the wide group of APARU’s volunteers. ● Presents a final proposal for approval of the Executive Committee. |

They also develop relationships with new donors, sponsors, venues and bring to APARU new potential members. |

Para 1.20 | Funds raised in 2022/2023 and transferred in 20232024: To Fundacion San Genaro GBP 4,690 The project we sponsored provides medical attention in 20 vulnerable communities in Santiago del Estero, a province in Northern Argentina and one of the poorest in the country. At least once a year, a group of doctors visit these communities, so that the local rural population don’t have the need to travel to urban areas to seek medical advice and get primary care. To Fundación Horizonte de Maxima GBP 4,690 In Argentina, 15% of the population lack access to a proper toilet inside their home. The project we sponsor aims to reach at least 12 vulnerable families to improve their housing conditions and their access to basic hygiene. Installed by a team of volunteers with the involvement of the neighbours and direct beneficiaries, the pre-built and easy-to-assemble sanitary modules comprise cold and hot water piping, drainage and electrical wiring, separate kitchen and toilet sinks, toilet bowl, shower and boiler. |

WE WON THE CHARITY GOVERNANCE AWARD 2024 in the category of Improving Impact – Small Charity (0-3 paid staff) for the results of our change of strategy.

Held 2 Away Days for our teams to work on strategic definitions: Spring in Brighton and Autumn in Cambridge.

Our calendar of social, professional and sports events included new ones - like financial topics for migrants, Borges, Peña del 25 de mayo and Swim the Serpentine- London Ride- and kept others that have become “traditions” such as Friends Day and Christmas “the argentine way” and our annual raffle 4. Hold the 1st Argentine Pride Fest in UK. 5. Hold 12 monthly meetings of the Executive Committee, alternating between online and face-to-face meetings. 6. Participated in events organised by other institutions, broadening our reach. 7. Continued to improve and maintain our presence and engagement on Social Media, mainly Instagram, Linkedin and email. We also strengthened our collaboration with other associations via cross promotion of our events in social media (AAS, Arenin, Argentinos en UK, etc) 8. Continued using software to improve our operations (i.e. Slack,Trello, Wix, MailChimp and Google Suite). 9. Reviewed our organigram, making some changes that better represented the way in which the work is carried out by out Trustees and teams of volunteers:Impacto local and Impacto argentino 10. Continued with the onboarding process for new members, holding more than 10 meetings. 11. Kept updated and improved the new official website. 12. Maintained a productive and continuous relationship with the 2 sponsored charities and sent £4,690 to each of them.13. Ran the 2nd round of the first mentoring program for and by Argentine women in the UK, that allowed 22 pairs to get in contact through meaningful conversations (57% increased from previous year) 14. Implemented our APARU Big Argentine RAffle which was drawn during a successful Argentine Peña 15. Participated in the Swim Serpentine challenge for the first time with 2 participants fundraising for APARU. 16. Executed our first online mental health campaign by Argentine professionals on the field 17. Launched Argentina sin Fronteras, a programme aimed at exchanging learning between people in the UK and Argentina
