MATTERS ARISING: There were none.
CORRESPONDENCE: None.
ACCOUNTS: Sheila presented the Accounts and said that we had received a legacy of £40,000 which has been used to pay towards the repairs to the organ. The money raised on afternoon teas in 2023 was mainly paid via the card reader and for various reasons was not paid into The Friends’ Accounts until after our year end, so will appear on the Accounts next year.
Hilary thanked Sheila for presenting the Accounts and for her hard work throughout the year.
VICAR’S REPORT AND PLANS FOR THE FUTURE: See attached sheet. David said he could ask the Antiquarian Society to help provide information about the history of The Minster.
Janet expressed concern about the future of The Friends as we all get older. We should do more to attract younger people to join and make sure that we have some leaflets available for visitors.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS: As there were no other nominations Susan King will continue as Secretary and Sheila Stoppard as Treasurer. The following names were put forward for the Executive Committee; Jenny Finder, Angela Forsey, Mick Walker, Diane Coffey, and the Vicar, Secretary and Treasurer and were elected en bloc.
Proposed by Janet Hardy, Seconded by Sally Clamp. With a vote of 7 for and 1 against.
The next AGM will take place on Sunday October 5[th] 2025.
The meeting closed with a silent tribute to Sir Ernest Hall, Philip Dyson and Revd Antony Foster who passed away since our last AGM and we ended with The Grace.
