previous in¢umbenl du& io personal rtt8sons. A Chief Exe¢ullve Officer, responsible lo the Board, is eonlra¢l$d on a
freelance basis for one day a week. Strategic decisions afl8Cting company are made by the Board of Director$ al their
regular meetings.

of Hydrographic Socieli8s HYDRO 2024 confer8nce that was h81d in Rosloek, Germany in Nov8Mb8r 2024. Al th8 close
of the conferen¢e they received the HYDRO Plaque 8$ the Society will hosl the next HYDRO conference in th& UK In
2025. A wod<ing group has been In action lo identify and secure a suitable dale and venue for the conference and invite
submissions for presentations and funding through exhibitions and sponsorship. Arrangements are well adVan￿d lor this
event that is scheduled lo lake place in Liverpool beiween the 28th and 30th Oolober 2025.
Following the success of the Remote Hydrography Conference and Exhibition in Dublin in February 2024 a strategio plan
vias dgveloped wllh the alrn of becomlng cosl-neulral wllhln Ihrae years. &xcludlng incomg from confer8n¢es and 8vgnls
organised by the Society. The plan was approved by the board in March 2025.
Al o r9gSonal lev91 Ihfj 6 Bron¢hes ol Ihe Socifjly have ￿ntinu9￿ lo hold regular 10¢01 M$¢￿ng$ in a rang9 of diff9ronl
formats. The Norih Wesl Branch, re-formed last year with regular social events, held their first technical presentation
evening in November 2024. The Scotland 8ranch continued as the most active region and welcomed 90 delegates to their
annual Hydrolesl evenl. Th8ir mg9ling program also included a 'super sumrnor so¢i81' event at the end of August lo which
members al the Society of Underwater Technology ISUTI were also invited and saw over 50 allendees. The Southern
Branch also partnered with the SUT lor Ihar annual evening technical joint meeting at the headquarters ol the Royal
Inslilule of Chartered Surveyors in central London. Tho Ihemtr of Unexploded Ordnancts proved lo ba tsxlrtsmely popular
and the event. held in the RICS lecture hall, was a sell-out. The East Anglia Branch annual quiz al the end ol November
vi8s very well attended gnd Ihe South-wesl Branch have mginlained their regular meetings prograrn and Ihe Irish Bran¢h
hav¢ primarily been acliv& via onlin¢ ov¢nls 8nd conlinuod lo be supported by INFOMAR.

annual Alan Ingh8m Awaid went on to win ihe Inlernalitsnal Federation ol Hydiographic Sociglies award and presented
her paper al HYDRO 24 in Roslc¢k. Several branches held sludenl-focused meetings this year a￿1 the annual schoo15
event in S¢g11ond introduced over 300 pupils aged 11-14 lo Hydrographic Surveying. The Hydrogrophi¢ Piolessionol
A¢crgdilalion Schgme IHPASI has gxpgrienced Steady growth In 2024125 with s cumulalivg lolal of 45 Successful
candidates and 13 llffil￿te appliconts.
The Society cOn￿'nUeS Lo promote and protect the hydrographic profession and submitted a response lo the April 2025 call
for evidence frorn the Joint Comrnitlee on the National Security Strategy around the security Ihreal to Undersea Cables.

Financial review
The nel delicil for the year was £14,39112024'. £15,133 5urplusl. After deducting this frorn the accurnulated funds brought
forward of £168,868 {£153,145 unrestricted funds and £15,723 restricted lundsl. there is a balance of reserves ol £
154,477 to cairy forward within the Society. This consist¥ ol £143,551 unr8stricl8d funds and £10,926 reslricled funds.
Following Ihe previously reported reduction in mernbership numbers. this reduction has stobilised ond nunkners hove
increased in both individuals 8nd corporaie rnernbers, this is Ihrough the dedicated work of the OEM.
The ptslicy ol th9 charity 18 that unrestiici￿I fvnds, which h8ve not bgen de8ign81gd for a specific puiptsse. should bg
maintained at a level equivalent to at least one and a haw times its annual operaling costs- currently £150,000. This
policy will allow the Society a reasonable lime frame in which ID find additional funding, or wind up the charity, il the need
should arise and also fflakes allo￿ance for th8 occasional poor perfDrmance ol an 8V8nt run by the SocI8ty.
Under the Metnorandurn and Articles ol Association the Charity has ihe powgl 10 rn8ke any investm8nt which the
Truslees see fit. Surplus funds are at presenl held on short ierm de?osit.
