Reference and Administrative Information
The Charity's reference and administrative information is shown on page 1.
Structure, Governance and Management
The Charity was formed by a Trust Deed dated 17 September 2004. All matters of policy and management are determined by the Trustees.
The Trustees are appointed by Deed by the holder of the prescribed consent or, if there is no such person, by the Trustees (acting by majority).
Objectives and activities
The objects of the Trust are to apply its income for such charitable purposes as the Trustees in their absolute discretion see fit.
In planning the activities and grants for the year, the Trustees have kept in mind the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.
The Charity carried out it's objects by making grants for the public benefit to appropriate charities and individuals in accordance with the Charity's objects.
Grant Making Policy
The policy of the Trustees in making grants is to apply the bulk of its income towards the primary purpose in accordance with the objects of the Charity. The Trustees consider that the best way of fulfilling this object is to make grants to other charities or charitable objects.
The Trustees consider appeals from all eligible charities including those to whom grants have been made in previous years. Each application is considered independently on its merits, taking into account the benefit to the public, whether the grant would further the objects of the charity and the amount of grant required. Grants are only made to charities registered with the Charity Commission who can demonstrate that the grant will be used to further its objects and provide a benefit to the general public. Any benefit to the charity or its officers is incidental.
Financial review, achievements and performance
The Trustees present the financial statements for the year ended 30 April 2016, which show income of £10,992.00. The management expenditure for the year was £992.00. The Trustees made charitable grants in the year totalling £22,488.80 and there was a surplus brought forward from 2015 of £12,718.20, leaving a surplus of £229.40 to be carried forward. The details of the charitable grants are shown on page 6.
Financial Reserves Policy
The Trustees aim to distribute all the surplus income arising in pursuance of the Charity's objects. The Trustees have power to apply the whole or any part of the capital of the Trust Fund in furthering it's objects. The Charity does not have any employees.
Investment Policy
The Trustees do not hold any investments. The Trustees investment powers are conferred by the Trustee Act 2000.
