guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefil when reviewing
our alms and objectives and in plannlng our future acttvities.

Achievements and perforniance
Income from the porttolio of investment properttes held up well arKI in additÉon the charty received
donations which maintained lotal income for the year. The Trust continues to review its portfolio of
investment properties wilh a view to optimising the return it makes. The current Eevels of income allow
only limited levels of grants to be made in furtherance of the charity's objeciives. The Trust's long term
aim is to Increase the levels of retum on investments to allow more substantial grants to be made.
Financlal revlew
Total revenue for the year was £134,978 (2023: £115,305) comprising. in the main. propety rental of
£69,478 {2023: £76.88n. Total expendilure for the year was £155,437 (2023: £117.604) which
included significant 8xpenditure to repair and maintain the charity's properties.
The trustees have not Ihought il necessary or desirable to procure a fresh valuation of the Trusfs
portfolio of the charity's properties, which at balance sheet date is £1.6rn (2023: £1.6m).

I report to Ihe trustees on my examination of the financlal statements ot The Little Gidding Trust
Limited I'the charity,) for the year ended 31 March 2024.
Responslbllltles and basls of report
As the Irustees of Ihe company (and also its direclors for the purposes of company law), you are
responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the
Companies Act 2006 ('the 2006 Acr).
Having satisfied myself that Ihe accounts of the company are not required to be audited under Part 16
of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of
the charity's accounts as carrled out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act,). In
carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions gNen by the Charity Commlsslon under
section 145(51(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confimi that no matters have come to my attention in connection
with the examinatlon giving me cause to belteve:
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 386 of the
2006 Act; or
the financlal statements do not accord with those records; or
the financial statements do not comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 of
the 2006 Act other than any requirement that the accounts give a Irue arKI fair, view which
is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or
the financial statemenis have not been prepared in accordance wth the methods and
principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice for accounling and reporting by
charities applicable to charities preparing their accounts In accordance with the Financlal
Reporting Standard appltcable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102).
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report In order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.

Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the siatement of financial athivilles when entitlement has
passed lo the charity; it is probable that the ecorK)mic benefits associaied with the transaction
will flow to the charity and the amount can be reliably measured. The following specific poltcies
are applied to particular categories of income:

Investment property is recorded at cost or valuation. The trustees have not thought it necessary
or desirable to pr<)duce a fresh valuation ol Ihe Trust's portfolio of inveslment properties

A review for indicators of impairment is Ca￿led out at each reporting date, *fjth the recoverable
amount being estimated where such indicators exist. Where the carying value exceeds the
recoverable amount, the asset is impaired accoromgly. Prior impalm￿nIS are also reviewed for
possible reversal at each ￿porting date.
For the purposes of impairment lesting. when it is not possible to estimate the recoverable
amount of an individual assel, an eslimate is made of Ihe recoverable amount of the cash-
generating unit to which the assel belongs. The cash4Jenerating unit is the smallest identifRble
group of assels that includes the asset and generales cash inflows that largely independent of
the cash inflows from other assets or groups of assets.
