Charnwood District Scouts 2023
Chairman Report
2022/2023 has been a busy year in the district.
Charnwood Census figures are up 9% - which brought us to 1098 YP!
Well done everyone.
This all continues to show that young people in the area are enjoying and being inspired by the range of activities available throughout all the groups within Charnwood district. We also recruited 28 new adults into various leadership roles between March 2022 and November 2022 and we now have two Squirrel Drey sections joining the existing squirrel section at Barrow is an additional one at Mountsorrel.
As usual a large range of activities were on offer from the district team supplementing those provided by the groups. They include Laser Qwest – for Cubs and Scouts and proved very popular. This was held over 3 staggered evenings at two venues. And the ever popular Swimming Gala.
I say this every year but it can’t be said too often. A Big Thank You to all our volunteers, whether you are leaders, section helpers, committee members or HQ handymen or fundraising teams throughout the district, without you Charnwood Scouting would not exist.
