Menheniot Old School Trust

Minutes of Trustees Meeting held June 9[th] 2021

Present: Mrs Eve Easterbrook (Chair), Mr Clem Vallance (secretary), Mrs Margaret Juckett (treasurer).

Minutes of the last Trustees meeting were read and approved by the chair. There were no matters arising.

Chair’s Report

Mrs Easterbrook summed up last year as a time when we were open for only brief intervals between Covid complete lockdowns and heavy restrictions on social activities.

Fortunately these did not hamper the fund-raising and re-roofing of the Old School, which was successfully completed on time in September. She also paid tribute to Alan Hockridge, one of our founding trustees, who died during the year, and thanked Denis Wilkins, who resigned after many years of service.

Treasurer’s Report

Mrs Juckett presented an annual financial summary, filed separately, which showed a deficit of £6,941.81 in the year after a total expenditure of £57,285.54 (the majority of which was the cost of re-roofing the whole building). The sum of £18,691.95 remains in our current and deposit accounts. The sum is mainly constituted from covid grants and will be put towards the cost of replacing the front door and the final window as part of the maintenance program. These accounts were accepted by the trustees.
