Chairman's report. 202012021
The past year has, on the whole. been much less remarkable than the previous year.
We have Con￿nUed to open the hall for tsse, as and when appropriate. Many of our regular and long
standing users have not met consistentiy. but as I write, they are now all functionlng agaln as
norrnal. While the ha51 remained out of use for many of the groups. a group of elite ￿Mnasts was
delighted to be able to use our facilittes, several times a week. Thls gave us an income stream. which
was very welcome, and we are grateful to their coach. for her willingness to negotiate a timetsble
which allows for community use on Sundays. for party bookings and so on, as things have returned
to relative normality-
As ever, I need to thank my fellow trustees. for their hard work In *eeplng our hall up and runnin
ready for the return to full use. In particular. I 5￿Uld mentr'on Kirsten Marsh, our bookings
secretary. who fields all the phone calls enquirini for reservations, and Gillian Field. our trea5ureT,
for her dlllgent book keepin& But everyone has had a part to play. and our cornmunlty thanks you
John. our cleaner, has been on sick leave for some weeks, and we Ire very fortunate that Carollne,
near neighbour, was more than willing to step in, tempornrily, and give the public are•s • good onctr
over on a weekly basis. John hopes to retum to full health over the next few weeks, and we wlsh
him well.
Thanks also to Alan, for hls conttnulng willln8ness to undertake srnall repalrs and malntenance, at

This year, Hampshire Open studrt￿ T4￿$ able to run. in August, Jnd provided • welcome opportunkv
for visitors who had not prevlously seen the hall in its renovated glory. to appreclate what a lovely
venue can offer. Numbers of them remarked th•t they had often walked by, but hadn't realised
what lay within. The organisers of the exhibition, also fettled up the small garden area outside the
kitrhen window, whlch has improved the look of thé place.
There is also a group of users who from time to time attend to the interlor paintwork Thanks to
them as well, for keeping the hall looki￿ fresh.
At our regular meetings we consider what our next tssks should be. as we progress with improving
and maintsining the facilities. Possibilities indude refvrbishment of the front kitchen. clearance and
improvements to the earden at the rear of the hall. and Improvements to the covered passageway
be￿een the hall and the small cornmittee room. Muth of course, will depend on finances.
