Activities
The Charity's activities have been principally (but not exclusively) to give financial assistance by way of grants to The Durand Group, a voluntary group carrying out exploration work of the tunnels and shafts in and around the First World War battlefields in northern France and Belgium, and to ensure the dissemination of the results of that work to the general public.
Objects: To Educate And Advance The Knowledge Of The History Of Underground Welfare And Related Subterranean Works With Particular Reference To Military Tunnelling And Mining, Underground Military Works And Related Subsurface Features And Other Underground Systems Of A Special Historic Or Archaeological Interest.
