a rwm in a communty centre for a group to meet and soon found that women were on their own after
fleeing domestic abuse. Originally krTh￿ as ￿an Women Lone Parents AS￿￿latiOn, by 2018 vrt)men wanted
a name Change. They decided on "Maa Shanti" is HiThJi for-mother Pe￿. "Maa" i8 a unNefsal word
for "motherf aTrJ 'shanti" ffeans 'peace'. This is hThY ¥•Th)en feel when they visit OUT seFVtrAs. We have

presence of honour-based abuse. forced marriage and pressures lo stay with a marriage no matter what, are

In October 2022 our main office was affected by a flood in the building because of heavy rain. We were able
to move out wilhin a month and are rthy located at a kny communty hub in the same borough. The new

and in an accessible buildirrfJ. but rM)w have ffwch better facilities available induding increased secunty.
