FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial year 1st April 2024 to 31" March 202515 referred to as .2025. and flnancial year I" Aprll 2023 to 31 March
2024 Is referred to as .2024"
The total income was £1,320,869 12024 £1.261,5261. Expenditure rose to £1,395,699 12024,. £1,247,109). The CEO
continues to oversee careful controls of all expenditure and wise stewardship of the funds often generously raised and
given. This trading performance resulted in a Deficit of £74.83012024'. SurplLÉS E14,4171 in general funds. Our cash
position Ilncludlng Investments) Is still healthy but decieased by £138,818 against 2024. Thi5 15 partly due to us belng
able to fund some of the refurbishment5 from previously Benerated funds, rather thèn through fundraising 5upport,'
expenditure levels rose as predicted, due to a full year of new slaffing structures, salary uplifts and inflationary pressures.
The charliy dld not recelve any legacy donatlons in 2025. The centre Is stlll running close to capacity and the teams are
working closely with clients to achieve appropriate ififlation Increases.
The Board expects that the Company wlll make a deflclt for financial year 2026 due mainly to the additional costs of
Employers Nallonal Insurance contributlons and Mlnimum Wage Increases, this deficit is budgeted to be around
LIOO,000. The Board then expects surpluses oi breakeven for the tomlng linanclal years,
The trustees conslder the charlty to be In a healthy posltlon flnanclally.
RESERVES
The Company's reserves pollcy Is aimed at hulldin8 reserves to a level of slx months, expendlture, neces51tated largely by
the peaks and trough5 in revenue income, although we do not experlence these fluctuatlons as a result of careful produ¢t
and servl¢e portfollo management.
Total funds at 31$¢ M8r¢h 2025 were £ 1,220,46012024: £1,295,290) of whlch E621,822 Is held In Flxed Assets (2024:
£578,625), Of the remalnlng £598,638, £98,3671s related to Restrlcted Funds12024: £79,574), therefore leavlng £500,271
as avallable funds12024: 637,0901, of whlch £270,000 has been deslgnated as reseNes for operatlonal contingencles.
The monthly Tunnin8 costs total approxlmately £108,IJOO per month, our target Is to keep a mlnlmum 013112 months
runnlng costs avallable In Instant access accounts, namely £378,000.
The Board understands we need a keen prlcing pollcy that represents great value for money whllst also acknowledglng
our reputatlon ané quallty provislon, to support thls prlce115ts for two calendar years are agreed and Issued before the
next flnanclal year beglns.
The CEO 15 chaf8ed to ensure that the full cost of dellverlng the servlce Is recovered. Future new projects should further
spread the Support costs, In turn reduclng the unlt cost of all programmes and hopefully wlll provlde addltlonal Income
streams.
RISK ASSESSMENT
The r15k revSew has been updated and the Board is satisfied that undeslrable rlsks assocl¢lted with runnlng an adventure
centre and farm are mana8ed approprlately. The comprehensive business risk review currently identlfles 63 separate risk

reviewed financial statement disclosures and agreed through to supportlng documentatlon to assess

audited the risk of override of controls, including through testing journals entries and other adjustments for
appropriateness and evaluating the business rationale of slgnificant transactlons outslde the normal course of

reviewed and challenged key accoLtntlng pollcies and estimates made by management.
Because of the inherent limitations of an audlt, there Is a rlsk that we wlll not detect all irregularities, includSng those
leading to a material misstatement in the flnancial statements or non-compliance with regulation. This risk increases
the more that compliance with a13w or regulation is removed from the events and transactions reflected in the
financial statements, as we will be less likely to become aware of instances of non-compliance. The risk is also greater
regarding irregularities occurring due lo fraud rather than error, as fraud involves Intentional concealment, forgeryi
collusion, omission or misrepresentation.
