The preservation and protection of good health, the relief of sickness and the advancement of education amongst persons, particularly by the provision of training, counselling and financial support with a view to promoting awareness of the disease and combating its spread.

- Talks given at church organisations in England raising the issues of HIV/Aids and fundraising. 

- Funding raised supports the improvement of the quality of education received in Rural Township. 

- Funding raised supports the education of students from township to attend an ex-Model C School. 

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

- Funding raised supports the work of the Hillcrest Aids Charity in South Africa supporting those infected or affected by HIV/Aids. This includes the education of young people in South Africa regarding the transmission of HIV/Aids and the effect of the illness. 

- Students from South Africa raise money annually to fund a project when they work in a school in township with Aids orphans and learn about the effect of HIV/Aids in their country. 

- As requested mentoring is provided for Principals in the schools in the rural township 

- Funding and supporting the building and development of a new Technical School in one of the areas that the charity works, to provide secondary education where previously none existed.

- The visit of a group of South African students from Ex Model C schools to paint, decorate and teach in a township school. 

- Fund raising continues to provide school uniform and basic stationary of some 200 young people in township in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, South Africa 

- Fund raising is also supporting 1 very able student to attend and ex-Model C School in Hillcrest, the original 2 students have now graduated, one in Law and one in Accountancy 

- Funding raised supports numerous activities at the Aids Centre in South Africa including: the respite unit; education projects. 

- Mentoring A Vice Principal of a secondary school, previously mentored as new Primary Principals 

- Funding has been raised to complete the building of two further classrooms at a new Technical School the charity has been working with

**Respective** The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. **responsibilities of** The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year **trustees and examiner** under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: 

- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, 

- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and 

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

**Basis of independent examiner’s statement** 

My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission.  An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.  It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.  The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
