## Activities

**Objects:** To promote in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the world the study and practice of Nichiren Buddhism as taught by Soka Gakkai International by such means as the Trustees think fit including, but not limited to: (a) the promotion of peace and understanding between peoples of different cultures and races; (b) the education of the public in arts of cultural and educational value (including the arts of music, song, dance, drama, literature, painting, drawing and sculpture); (c) the education of the public about conservation, protection and improvement of the environment; (d) the education of the public about human rights and their maintenance and observation; (e) the relief of poverty, sickness, infirmity and old age; (f) the education of the public about peaceful means of conflict resolution. Nothing in these Articles shall authorise an application of the property of the Charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.

**Activities:** In pursuance of its charitable objectives, and in order to achieve the overall aims of its mission statement, the principal charitable activity of SGI-UK is the advancement of religion as it relates to the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin.
