The directors of the company are also charity trustees for the purposes of charity law and under the

Results for the year ended 31 March 2024 are 9Sven In the Statement of Flnanci81 Activltles on page 12.
The assets and liabilltles are given in the Balance Sheet on page 13. The financial statements shoukl be
read in conjunction with the related notes which appear on pages 14 to 23. In summary, incoming
resources amounted to £78,977 and resources expended tolalled £70,258, resutting in a net surplus for
the period of £8721. The Net Reserves of the organisation as at 31 March 2024 was £31,270.
Reserves Pollcy
In line with our reserve pollcy. the charity has to hokl free unrestricted funds not commttted or invested in
tangible fixed 8ssets equivalent to between 3 and 8 months of lis operating cost. Budgeted operatlng cost
expendlture for 2024125 is expected to be £72,000, on a target range of £18,000 to £36,000. Our current
free reserves of £22,000 Is Iherefore safe and withln the targel range of our reserve policy
The charity remains commNted to advanclng Its mlsslon of supportlng young glrls and women aged 5-25 In
88rklng and Dagenham. In the comlng years, we aim to sustain and expand the core a￿1ville5 outlined
above, coniingent on securlng appropriate funding and resources.
A centr81 focus wlll be on deepening the Impact of our programs by bro8denlng our reach to underserved
communltles and enhanclng the quallty of our servlces. We plan to strengthen partnershlps wlih local
sch(iols, community organisations, and other stakeholders to create a more cohesive support network for
the young glrls and women we serve. Securlng addoiional core funding will be crltical In achleving these
goals.
Volunteer recrultment and development wlll contlnue to be a prforrty. We are dedlcated to growlng our
volunteer base and providing tailored training opportunities to empower volunteers, enabllng them to
support existlng staff eff8Ctively 8nd take on leadershlp roles wrthin the organis8tion.
Furthermore, the Gharily will actlvely explore Snnovative approaches and partnerships to address emerglng
challenges faced by our beneficlarfes, ensuring ihat our servlces remaln relev8nt and Impactful. By

thelr families from disadvantaged Black communrtles-through a range ol impactful programmes and

Outreach to Core Beneflclarle8
Through a comblnatlon of word-of-mothh, detached, and OLrtreach methods, includlng remote,
telephon8, and face-t¢>f8ce actlvltles, we dlreclly sUPP)rted approximately 800 beneficiaries and
Indirectly reached over 2,400 beneficiaries. Our WO￿ priorltlsed young oirls faced with poverty
and their families, provldlng vltal support to help them overcome thelr vulnerabilities and economlc
challenges.
Volunteer Recrumment and Development
We successfully recruited and Irained a total of 19 new volunteers, Includlng 'Afrlcan Auntles.,
enhancing our abllity to deliver culturally sensMive mentorshiplsupport. The 'Aunties" Initiative
Gontinued to be 8 cornerstone of our approach, pairing community mother-foure volunteers with
disadvantaged young girls to gU￿￿e them through person818nd social challenges.
Youth PartlCiP8tlon Development
Overlhe past year, we have signlficantly enhanced youth participation within our organisation. We
have empowered OLir beiieficiaries by provKling training programs that enable them to lead
activities for younger peers, fostering leadership and mentorship skills amongst our youth.
A(Jditionally, these Irained youth have actively engaged in outreach inrtl8tives lo atlr8Ct new
beneficiaries, expandiiig our community reach. Regular meetings have been conducted where
P8rticipanls discussed emerging challenges and brainstormed Poienlial solutions, leading to the
development of new projects tailored to address these issues. These initiatives have not only
bo15tered the confidence and Skills of our young memters but have also strenglhened the overall
impact and siistainabilily of our programs.

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretlon of the trustees to further any of the
charlty's purposes.
Desonated funds are unrostricted funds eafmarked by the trustees for particular future project or

A revlew for Indicators of Impalrment Is catried out at each reporting date. with the recoverable
amount belng estimated where such indicators exist. V¥Trere the rArrylng value exceeds the
recoverable amount, the asset Is imp8ired accordingly. Prior impaimients are also reviewed for
possible reversal 8t each reportlng d8te.
For the purposes of impaimient testing, when it is not posslble to estimate the recoverable
amount of an IndI￿dual asset, an estlmate Is made of the recoverable amount of the c8sh-
generating unit to which the asset belongs. The cashrfJenerating untt Is the sm811est identifiable
group of assets that includes the asset and generates cash inflows that largely independent of the
cash inflows from other assets or groups of assets.
