Objectives and activities
The main objectives of the charity are:
-
To share and promote the Christian faith, mainly in Salford and, if the Trustees think it’s right, in other parts of the UK or even abroad. We may also do other activities that are charitable under the laws of England and Wales and fit with the Trust’s work.
-
To help people who are in need, facing hardship, illness, or old age, and to ease their distress in Salford and, if the Trustees decide, in other parts of the UK or abroad.
Summary of the main activities:
Sunday services
Langworthy Community Church (LCC) runs a Sunday service which is accessible to local families. They usually offer a free meal as part of the service, along with children’s activities and time of prayer, worship, and discipleship. The usual Christian holidays such as Easter and Christmas are celebrated with events open to all, in partnership with the local schools.
Community Action
LCC works in partnership with the Lifecentre Salford to provide services to their local community as the need is identified. This can include supporting local schools through providing religious education assemblies or lessons as requested and supporting people in the local community experiencing hardship with food parcels, clothes, gifts, and practical help.
Children and Family Work
Children and family work both during a Sunday service and on request of local schools. Support for those in need through supporting local projects. The church also supports the running of a local youth group which is open to children of all faiths and none.
Public benefit statement
Langworthy Community Church trustees have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning its future activities. In particular, the trustees have considered how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives that have been set.

Langworthy Community Church Trust Independent examiners report to the trustees for the year ended 31 March 2025
I report on the accounts for the period ending 31 March 2025 set out on page 5.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Charities Act”) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner’s statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met; or
-
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
