Achlevements and performance
There is always the hope that wilh each new year, things will improve for our families - sadly notl
Apari from the constant struggle with tha cost of living, we have had a number of families given notice
to leave their private accommodation. This has posed a huge problem as private rents are now
beyond their budget and the council waiting list is hugely over prescrtbed. The next stap is emergency
Bed and Breakfast. It's very depressing bul we continue to offer emotional support.
The Cheer lunches are ongoing with new families always attending. The amount of Christmas
hampers grows accordingly, each year. The Cheer for Kids {C4KJ is exciting as the children grow and
thrive. Tennis for the children continues and is always popular.
As we get larger, new events are being established to meet the molher and children's needs. Our aim
as a charity continues to be effective in our members lives. New groups have formed this year with
some more lined up for next year.
Financial revlew
Policy on reserves
It is not thought necessary at this point to have a reserve policy other than lo try to ensure Ihat
enough funds are received to try to achieve the main aim of the company and to ensure it can meet its
administrative obligations. As and when the fundraising is such that we start to build free reserves, a
more detailed review of reseNes and risks will be undertaken.
Investment policy and objectlves
Under the memorandum and articles of association the company has the power to make investmenls
which the Directors see fit.
Structure, governance and management
Nature of governlng document
Cheer Trust is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and is govemed by its memorandum
and articles of association. The liability of the members is £1 each.
Statement of trustees. responsibilities

responsible for preparing the trustees, report and the financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (Uniled Kingdom Generally Accepted

Republic of Ireland" The report and accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions

Support costs
Support costs include central functions and have been allocated to aclivity cost categories on a basis
