TRUSTEES ANNUAL REpoKr perk￿ start date From: Perlod end date To: 1st April 2023 31st March 2024 Charlty name: Tho Joseph Stone Educatlonal and Vlllage Hall Charlty 1104060 Charlty reglstratlon number. Oblectfves and Artlvltles The objects of the Charity are to promote the benefrt of the Inhabitants of Mosborough in the City of Sheffield by bringing together statutory, voluntary and other or8anisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance the education of those Inhabitants who are beyond compulsory school age and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare and for recreatlon and leisure time; ultimately to improve the conditions of the life of the inhabitants. The Charity seeks to meet its objectives through the provision of a suitable village hall, which encompasses the necessary facilities to meet the broadest needs of the inhabitants of the community which it serves. Although the main focus of the charity is the provision of the village hall it does provide other facilities, for example, four defibrillators around the villa8e, benches in key spots and it also provides financial assistance to other organisatlons that can demonstrate a need for support. Furthermore, the Charity aims to provKle bursarle5 to support indivKluals & groups operating within the IcKal area. Achlevements and Performance The Charity has achieved the objectives in so far as its facllities are belng used by a broad varlety of user groups that return to the hall on a frequent basis. The hall provides its user groups with a well-maintained facility where groups can commit with certainty to the long-term provision of such a facility. To enhance the provision for disabled persons, we have installed a 2m wide escape ramp from the main hall into the car park. Additionally. we have instslled handrails around the pathways leading from the entrance gate to the main door.

Security has also been improved by the provision of ccrv cameras covering most sides of the buildin8. Provision of auto door closure devices linked to the fire alarm system has enhance our fire security. As a community facility a commemorative Queen ElSzabeth bench located in the grounds of the centre completes our improvements this year. In respect of the award of bursaries, the Charity continues to build links with both local schools and other appropriate institutions and has donated more than £3,CKM). We were very pleased to be able to support our local food bank not only by arting as a donation hub but also by a cash donation at Christmas. Flnancoal Revlew It is noted that this charity. the Joseph Stone Educational and Village Hall Charity. is intimately associated with the Joseph Stone Educational Foundation Charity, and funds are freely exchanged between the two for the 8ood of the whole. The rental income for the hall has Increased from £33,842 for 2023 to £36,556 for the year to March 2024. Planned continued upgradln8 of the centre saw the charity make a moderate loss of £1414. The Charity and Trustees seek to minimise financial risk to the reserves of the Charity and all reserves are maintained as cash or investments wSth a ￿putable bank or investment fund. Our operational costs in relation to the village hall this year, were slightly higher due to some one-off planned expenditures: setting up the webslte (wlth a fNe year contract) & improved emergency lighting. The Charlty considers that it has adequate reserves to meet both nomial on- going costs and any further eX￿ptIOnal costs of a capital nature that might arise. StnKture, Governance and Management The Charity is a re8iStered charity with a registered Company of the same name, which has a registered number of 05119395. The Charity is governed by a Trust Deed. Trustees are appointed as vacancies arlse and they ￿e1Ve no remuneration for the services they provide to the Charity.
