Year Ended 30[th] April 2025
OVERVIEW
For the year ended 30[th] April 2025, The Skinners’ School Parents’ Association (SSPA) raised £37,640.86.36 which is slightly lower than the previous year (-2%).
The Christmas Fair was very successful and raised almost £15,000, which is slightly higher than 2023 and includes £1,500 in matched funding. We held two Quiz nights and raised just over £8,000 which was 20% down on the previous year. Due to social calendar clashes we chose not to host a Jazz evening but we were able to hold a Wine Tasting event again and raised £500. We staged a one-off Shenanigans event after the schools sports day. This was wonderfully enjoyed by the boys and raised £1,600.
We held 4 non-uniform days during the financial year and raised a huge £7,330. This is an increase of almost 10% on the previous year and shows a great commitment by the pupils to these events and they directly benefit from these funds being invested back into the school.
Subscriptions to our 200 club were significantly higher than the previous year. 144 individuals signed up – an increase of 32%! Some parents have been donating their winnings back to the SSPA. This initiative will raise over £4,000.
We have been encouraging parents to support us as they shop by using EasyFundraising which helped bring in just over £1,200.
EXPENDITURE
The Association made a number of significant contributions to the school this year. Funding requests came from a variety of sources and in total we transferred in excess of £56,000 to some great causes including:
-
£20,000 for a long jump on the grounds at Southfields.
-
£13,400 for a laser cutter and dedicated laptop.
-
£7,500 for the Mini-bus lease.
-
£5,030 for carbines for the CCF.
-
£4,864 for photographic and lighting equipment.
Other expenses of £500 are de minimis administrative costs to run the Association.
ASSETS
The Association concluded the year with net assets of £34,426.76 cash and at bank.
Finally, I would like to thank the Independent Examiner, Stuart Williams. He reviewed the accounts and supporting documentation in detail. He duly signed off the Independent Accountant’s Report for this financial year on 30[th] April 2025.

Independent Examiner's report to the Trustees of The Skinners’ School Parents’ Association
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 30 April 2025, which are set out on pages 3, 4 and 5.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent Examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met.
