## **Meeting of Trustees of Lakeside Christian Fellowship Trust**
## **Held on 19 February 2023**
## **Present Rod Sayers, James Mackay, Ian Hay, Ian Strickland and Sean Larkin**
The meeting opened with a time of prayer
## **Objects of Trust**
Rod Sayers ran through the objects of the Trust and reflected on the core focus of advancing the Christian Faith and relieving hardship and need
## **Financial**
The Trust had the following balances in its bank account on 19 February 2023
LCF CAF Bank - £49,845.2
Elburgon CAF Bank - £20,009.02
Lloyds Bank – £14,832.26
Monies available for Kenya totalled £34,841.28
The accounts for the year ended 30 June 2022 were approved by the trustees and will be presented to the Church in the evening by Rod Sayers
Tax Returns and Gift Aid – The tax return for 5 April 2022 was prepared and submitted prior to the end of January 2023, together with gift aid claims for 2019-2022. Gift Aid was received on 16 January 2023 from HMRC as follows LCF - £20,797.75 and Elburgon - £17,723.17
## **Giving**
Donations were made to selected charities – Open Doors, Food Bank, SPUC. Each received £1,000.
## **Consulting Fees**
It was agreed there would be no change to the consulting fees paid to Sean Larkin.
## **Elburgon**
Significant gifts had been received since the last meeting and together with the gift aid put the Mission in a sound financial position for the next 12 months. Ian Hay agreed to discuss with Maureen and Hedley Quinton if we should fund school fees out of general funds for a period to reduce donor fatigue.
## **Trustees Insurance**
Trustees Insurance was obtained by Rod Sayers and behalf of the Trustees
## **Safeguarding Policy**
Helen Strickland the LCF Safeguarding Co-Ordinator joined the meeting
The safeguarding policy was reviewed by the Trustees and Safeguarding Co-Ordinator in the light of the latest version provided by Thirtyone:eight. After extensive discussions a series of actions were agreed with a view to producing an update Safeguarding policy with associated documentation.
## **Data Protection**
No incidents reported
## **Trustee Succession Policy**
It was agreed to invite Paul Day to become a Trustee
## **Romania**
It was agreed that Sean Larkin would take £1,250 with him on his next visit to support the ministry and Catalin Stanescu.
It was also agreed that in view of our long standing relationship with Catalin the Church would look to give Catalin and Lillia a gift on the occasion of their Wedding anniversary. Jim Mackay would ask for contributions in the June newsletter/calendar
## **Supporting those in Financial difficulty**
It was agreed that members of the Church should be made aware of the fact that Rod Sayers could provide access to foodbank vouchers and in the case of need the Trust was able to assist members of the Church. This would be mentioned at the presentation to the Church
## **AOB**
The dates for the next two meetings were agreed being 20 May 2023 at 3pm and 20 August 2023 at 3pm

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of
Lakeside Christian Fellowship Trust (the Trust) for the year
ended 30 June 2022.
Res
onsibilities and basis of re
ort
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the
preparation of the accounts in accordan with the requirements of
the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried
out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my
examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by
the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

endent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters
have come to my attention in connection with the examination
giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as
required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements
concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities
(Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view which is not
a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in
connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn
in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
