The charity is governed by its constitution and managed by a committee of trustees elected in accordance with the governing document. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The charity's objective is to provide and maintain community facilities for the benefit of local residents. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

During the year the charity continued to provide community facilities through room hire, social events and other activities. 

A Lottery Commission Grant of £20,000 was attained as part funding towards replacement wood flooring throughout. 

## **Financial Review** 

Total income for the year was £100,250.59 and total expenditure was £100,690.32, resulting in a deficit of £439.73. Closing funds at 31 March 2026 were £71,145.83. 

## **Reserves Policy** 

The trustees seek to maintain sufficient reserves to meet ongoing operating costs and future maintenance requirements. 



## **Public Benefit** 

The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.

The charity exists to provide and maintain a community venue for the inhabitants of Sherburn-in-Elmet and surrounding villages. During the year the Centre continued to provide facilities for community groups, meetings, social activities, events and private functions.

Total income for the year was £100,250.59. Total expenditure was £100,690.32, resulting in a deficit of £439.73. Closing funds at 31 March 2026 were £71,145.83.

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. In carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission.
