The directors of Conirasting Horizons Limited <'CH') for the purposes of the Companies Acl
2008, Present their annual report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 March
2025. The directors have adopied the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Praaice
(SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities. in preparing the annual report and financial
statements of CH.
08JECTIVES OF CONTRASTING HORIZONS, PRINCIPAL AcnvinES AND
ORGANISATION OF OUR WORK
CH is a company limited by guarantee having no share capital. The liability is limited, in the
event of the company being wound up, to a maximum of £1 per Member. The company was
Incorporated on 24 November 2003, company registration number 4973607.
CH is also a charity registered with the Charities Commission registered number 1103189. It
achieved full recognised charitable status on 13 April 2004,
CH exists for the following two main objectives,,
1. The relief of poverty by raising awareness of the contrasting horizons between rich and
poor., the Third World and the Westem World and to raise funds to help relieve poverty.
2. To communicate the contrasting horizons of lives lived under the lordship of Jesus
Christ compared to those that are not.
DEVELOPMENT. ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE YEAR
INCOME
Income in the year came mainly from
1. Interest (Mainly from CIF Bude)
2. The value of the investment in M & G Unit Trust transferred from the Eliza Tyeth Trust in
the year (8 local charity with similar aims to CH) Interest received.
Also the balance to close of Tyeth Trust Lloyds Bank account.
3. Donations, the main one being from A P Jopson (gift aidable)
EXPENDITURE & ACTIVITIES IN THE YEAR
The following specific activities have been undertaken..
+ Donations were given to make available predominantly Christian educational resources
to the communrty of Peverell to enhance their lives, to resource the church in Peverell
and disciple new Christlans,. also to provide Christian Outreach into the community.
* We run a weekly house group (Life group) exploring Christian Faith & other Bible
ovemew Courses & teaching as needed (Online using Zoom in current financial year).

ANNUAL AND FINANCIAL REVIEW
The Statement of Financial Activities shows net increase in funds for the year to 31 March 2025
of £51,323 (2024 increase of £40,610) This was due to a big donation from Tony Jopson
£59,200. Without this, funds would have decreased by £7,877.
The total reserves stand at £214,144 of which £1,000 is a permanent endowment fund.
RESERVES
The company has set aside reserve funds for future activities. There are currently no paid staff.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The directors actively review the major risks that the organisation faces on a reg ular basis. They
have examined the operational and business risk faced by the organisation and confirm that
they have established systems to mitigate significant risks.
STATEMENT OF DIRECTORS, I TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES
Trustees, responsibilities in relation to the financial statements
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financia5 Statements in accordance with applicable
law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice that give a true and fair view
of the state of the affairs of the company at the end of the financial year and of its surplus or
deficit for the financial year. I n doing so the trustees are required to..

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.,
Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent., and
Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to
presume the charity will continue its operations.
The Trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with
reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enables them to
ensure that the financial statements comply with the Statement of Recommended Practice
(SORPI issued by the Charity Commission. The trustees are responsible for safeguarding the
assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of
fraud and other irregularities.
The above report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies
subject to the small companies regime as set out in Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 and in
accordance with the Charities SORP {FRS 102)
The directors are satisfied that the company is entitled to exemption from the audit, however the
members have requested an independent examination.

Basls of preparatlon of accounts
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities, preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Slandard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on
16 July 2014 and with the Financial Reporting Slandard applicable in the United Kingdom and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)

Resources expended are included in the Statement of Financial Activities on an accruals basis,
inclusive of any VAT, which cannot be recovered.
