DIRECTORS, REPORT
The directors of Contrasting Horizons Limited ("CH") for the purposes of the Companies Act
2006, present their annual report and the financial statement5 for the year ended 31 March
2024. The directors have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice
(SORPI "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" in preparing the annual report and financial
statements of CH.
OBJECTIVES OF CONTRASTING HORIZONS, PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND
ORGANISATION OF OUR WORK
CH is a company limited by guarantee having no share capital. The liability is limited, in the
event of the company being wound up, to a maximum of £1 per Member. The company was
incorporated on 24 November 2003, company registration number 04973607.
CH is also a charity registered with the Charities Commission registered number 1103189. It
achieved full recognised charitable status on 13 April 2004.
CH exists for the following two main objectives..
1. The relief of poverty by raising awareness of the contrasting horizons between rich and
poor., the Third World and the Western World and to raise funds to help relieve poverty.
2. To communicate the contrasting horizons of lives lived under the lordship of Jesus
Christ compared to those that are not.
DEVELOPMENT, ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE YEAR
INCOME
Income in the year came mainly from
1. Interest {Mainly from CIF Budel and the new investment in M & G Investment
2. The value of the investment in M & G Unit Trust transferred from the Eliza Tyelh Trust in
the year (a local charity with similar aims to CH)
3. Donations, the main one being from A P Jopson {gift aidable)
EXPENDITURE & ACTIVITIES IN THE YEAR
The following specific activities have been undertaken..
Donalions were given to make available predominantly Christian educational resources
to the community of Peverell to enhance their lives, to resource the church in Peverell
and disciple new Christians,. also lo provide Christian Outreach into the community.
We run a weekly house group (Life group) exploring Chrislian Faith & olher Bible
overview Courses & teaching as needed (Online using Zoom in current financial year).
The making available of educational resources on topics such as money management,
debt, marriage enhancement and parenting skills

ANNUAL AND FINANCIAL REVIEW
The statement of Financial Activities shows nel increase in funds for the year to 31 March 2024
of £40,610 {2023 decrease of £11,488). This was due to the value of the investment transferred
into CH from Eliza Tyeth Trust {£56,874). Without this funds would have decreased by £16,264.
The total reserves stand at £162,821 of which £1,000 is a permanent endowment fund.
RESERVES
The company has sel aside reserve funds for future activities. There are currently no paid staff.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The directors actively review the major risks that the organisation faces on a regular basis. They
have examined the operational and business risk faced by the organisation and confirm that
they have established systems to mitigate significant risks.
STATEMENT OF DIRECTORS, I TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES
Trustees, responsibilities in relation to the financial statements
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounling records which disclose with
reasonable accuracy at any lime the financial position of the company and lo enable them to
ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. The Trustees are
also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The above report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to
companies subject to the small companies regime as set out in Part 15 of the Companies Act
2006 and in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021.
The directors are satisfied that the company is entitled to exemption from the audit however the
members have requested an independent examination.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparation of accounts
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice
'Accounling and Reporting by Charities, preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on
16 July 2014 and with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102}
Incoming resources
Income is recorded on an accruals basis.
Resources expended
Resources expended are included in the Statement of Financial Activities on an accruals basis,
inclusive of any VAT, which cannot be recovered.
Taxation
Based on its Status as a charity and a not for profit company limited by guarantee, the company
is effectively exempt from corporation lax.
