ThetrusteeswhoarealsodirectorsofthecharityforthepurposesoftheCompaniesAct2006,present their
reportwiththefinancialstatementsofthecharityfortheyearended31December2023.Thetrustees have
adoptedtheprovisionsofAccountingandReportingbyCharities:StatementofRecommended Practice
applicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewiththeFinancialReporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).
ThisannualreportbeginswithasummaryofthestrategicoverviewofMicahGlobalasdevelopedinthe last
quarterof2023,andahigh-levelstatementofplanned2024activitiesinlinewiththisstrategy.Itisfollowed by
astatementofnetworkstructureswhichhavenowbeenimplemented.Thereisasummaryofnetwork forums
and groups in 2023.

1. Micah's Network Ecosystem

humanitarian, development, environmental and advocacy work that members are engaged in.)

Strengtheningthecapacityofmembersandothercollaborators(includingchurches)throughlearning and
joint action, enabling increasingly localised humanitarian responses.

Strengthening the role of members in advocacy and running global and local campaigns.

Connectandbuildthecapacityofmemberstheologically.Identify,joinandstrengthenexisting theological

1. Micah's Network Ecosystem
Goals 2024:
1.1MemberEngagement-StrengthenMicahnetworkecosystembyutilisingmembercare,involvement and
enhancedmemberbenefitstoincreasememberengagementandmemberinvolvementby15%by 31
December 2024.
1.2MicahHub-Migrate100%ofmembersontotherelaunchedMicahHubandutilisethehubasthe primary
pointofcontact,communicationandengagementformembers,recording15%increasedengagement on
the hub.
1.3Country&RegionalGroups-Identifycountryconveners,activateandlaunch5countrygroups and
conductthreeregionalConnectsby31December2024,guidedbyarevisedandformalisedCountry and
Regional Group Guide.
1.4Forums:Identifyrelevanttopicsandpresentersandconductabout28forumstoempowermembers and
enrich their network experience by 31 December 2024.
1.5ThematicGroups-StrengthenHumanitarianResponse,AdvocacyandDisabilityGroups,andactivate at
least two groups in 2024, including trafficking and children groups.
1.6Friends- Developtheframeworkand supportingnetworkstructuresand launchtheMicahFriends category
by 30 July 2024.
2. Local Humanitarian Response, Goals 2024 :
2.1HumanitarianResponseForumand Training- TheHumanitarianResponse(HR) SteeringGroupto agree and
oversee the delivery of online and onsite HR training and other forums.
2.2OnlinecollaborationaroundHumanitarianResponse-IncreaseHumanitarianResponse Group
engagementandcollaborationonMicahHub(Micahmembers'networkingplatform).UtiliseMicahHub as
the go-to place for HR conversations, information sharing and storing learning resources for members..
2.3Collaborationwithmemberorganisation-Explore1-yearpartnershipagreementandworkplan with
Integral Alliance as the basis for an ongoing partnership.
3. Global and Local Advocacy, Goals 2024:
3.1Part-timeCoordinator-Recruitapart-timeAdvocacyCoordinatoraspartoftheMicahSecretariat to
support the growth of the Micah Advocacy Thematic Group.
3.2Forums-Identifyrelevanttopicsanddeliveronlineandonsitetrainingandotherforumsasagreedby the
Micah Advocacy Steering Group.
3.3OnlinecollaborationaroundAdvocacy-IncreaseHumanitarianResponseGroupengagement and

outregularstaffappraisalsandprovidingtheopportunityforongoingfeedback.Monitorstaffinglevels to
ensure the correct balance of skills and availability to be efficient and effective.
5.3Boarddevelopment-ensureaneffectiveandinspiredBoardthatprovidestheguidanceand support
requiredbytheSecretariat.Reviewthenumber,skillsandmixofBoardmemberstoensure adequate
representationofgender,expertiseandgeographicallocation.Identifytrainingrequirementsand consider
succession planning.
Network Structures
During2021and2022,extensivechangesweremadetothenetworkstructuresofMicahGlobal,building on
ourcommitmenttobemember-led,digitallyenabled,andanetworkratherthanamovement.In2023, this
resulted in the following network structures being agreed:

1. Micah Forum s which are online or onsite spaces of any duration where members meet. There are three types of Forums: Micah Connect, Micah Learn and Micah Chapel.
2. Micah Groups which may be geographic (comprising Regional Groups, Country Groups and Local Chapter) and thematic groups on any topic of interest to a group of members (e.g. humanitarian response, advocacy, disability in clusion, anti-human trafficking).
3. Micah Hub which is the online platform for Micah members to share news, resources, have conversations, find one another and connect to the activities of Forums and Groups.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Network Activities 2023
Forums
FollowingthesuccessofMicahGlobal's8thTriennialConsultationwhichtookplaceonlineinSeptember 2021,
2022sawthecontinuanceofonlinemembergatherings,asdefinedinthestrategyabove.These Member
Forums are designed to be online, onsite or hybrid. All Member Forums for 2023 were online.
Micah Connect
MicahConnectisformemberstoconnect,network,pray,discuss,and"situnderatreetogether"and explore
questions that matter to members. 6 Micah Connect forums took place during 2023.
Micah Chapel
MicahChapelisa placetowithdrawfromthebusynessofworklifetosharetestimonies,meditateon scripture,
reflect, pray and worship together. 8 Micah Chapel forums took place in 2023.
Micah Learn
MicahLearnistheplacewheremembersgathertolearnfromoneanotherandfromoutsidespecialists on
topicsrelatedtorelief,development,careandadvocacy.Thismaytaketheformofastructured course
offering, or more informal and interactive peer-to-peer learning. 7 Micah Learn forums took place in 2023.
Micah Act
One Micah Act was held in September 2023 on the theme of Pray and Act Against Hunger.
Groups
Country Groups
CountryGroups,representingthecontinuedevolutionofwhatusedtobecalledNational Expressions,
continuedtobedefined.CountryGroupConvenersinAfricametonlineonseveraloccasionstodiscuss their
respective country groups. Micah Global Kenya developed a strategic plan to be implemented from 2023.
Regional Groups
Africagroupwasformedin2023andconversationsaboutEurope,Asia,LatineAmericaandNorth America
are taking place.
Thematic Groups
ThematicGroupsrepresenttheprimaryareasoffocusofMicahGlobalmembers.Theseinclude humanitarian
response,development,creationcareandadvocacy.Itisenvisagedthateachofthesefourareas will
developmember-led,SecretariatcoordinatedThematicGroups.During2022,theAdvocacyand the
Humanitarian Response thematic groups were formed.
Micah Hub
TheMicahNetworkingPlatformwaslaunchedin2022asapurelyonlineForumwherememberscanfind and
connectwithoneanother.Theycanmakethemselvesknown,bringcontributionsofvariouskinds, and
interact.Itistheplacewherenews,events,resourcesandotherinformationissharedandfrom where
thematicandcountrygroups,networkforumsandmemberseventscanbeeasilyaccessed.Bytheend of
2023, there were 390 member individuals registered as users on the platform.
Membership
In2023,Micahhadapproximately325activememberorganisationsand144individualmembersacross all
continents.Inthesameyear,MicahGlobalwelcomed31newmembers:22organisationalmembersand 9
individual members, from 13 different countries.
Membershipdatahasbeenmigratedontoasinglemembershipdatabasesystem/platformtoallow for
secureandtimelyinformationmanagement.Themembershipdatabasecurrentlyhas1,164contacts listed
who are in member organisations.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial Review
During the year the charity received total income of £93,301 (2022: £130,188).
During the year the charity's total expenditure was £145,098 (2022: £123,985).
Cash flow was monitored throughout the year and reported to the Board monthly.
Anannualbudgetismadebasedonthepreviousyear'sincomeandexpectedmembersubscriptions and
donations.A levelofriskisalwayspresentasourmembershipmaychange,andsubscriptioninvoicesmay not
bepaid.Ourreservespolicyoffersa gooddegreeofprotectionalongwiththeacceptanceto membership of
newmembersandtheongoinggenerosityofexistingmembers(especiallyindividuals)whichhave enabled
Micahto remainfinanciallystablethroughouttheyear.Monthlyfinancialreportsaresentto theBoardand are
regularly reviewed against budget for the year.
Forthe2024financialyearMicahisplanningtoincreaseitsfundraisingactivitiesbeyondourannual member
contributionstoallowustoexpandourNetworkactivityanddevelopnewinitiativessuchas additional
ThematicandCountrygroups.TheBoardhavepreparedabaselinebudgettoplanforayearof expected
income(basedon2023).TheSecretariatisdevelopingdetailedprojectbudgetsforthestrategic areas
definedearlierinthereport.Someofthesebudgetswillrequireadditionalfundraisingtoenabletheplans to
take place.
Micahwouldliketotakethisopportunitytothankeveryoneinvolvedfortheirgenerosityandsolidarity around
the Micah vision.
Reserves policy
Thecharityaimstohavesufficientreservestobeabletorespondtolimitedneedsastheyarisebut otherwise
aimstopassonfundsasquicklyaspossible.Weendedtheyearwithabalanceofunrestrictedfunds of
£12,645,whichislowerthanourreservepolicycommitmentof£20,000.During2024wewillmonitorthis closely
and work to increase this balance back to our reserve policy target of £20,000.
Risk Assessment
Thecharityhasinternalcontrolsthatprovidereasonableassuranceagainsterrorsorloss.TheTrustees also
considertheriskassessmentforthecharityandaresatisfiedthatallsignificantriskshavebeen considered
together with prudent mitigation measures and action points and this assessment is regularly reviewed.
Public Benefit
TheTrusteeshaveconsideredtheguidanceprovidedbytheCharityCommissionregardingpublicbenefit and
theworkofthecharity.ItistheiropinionthatTheMicahNetworkhasfulfilleditspublicbenefitrequirement for
theyearbycontinuingtooperatewithinitscharitableobjectives:providinganetworkforindividuals and
organisationsoperatingacrosstheglobeintheareasofhumanitarianresponse,development,creation care
and advocacy

Globalandisknownbythatname.Thecompanynumberis4669640.Thegoverninginstrumentis the
Memorandum and Articles of Association.
ThecharityisgovernedbyaBoardofTrusteesandasmallerExecutiveCommittee(madeupof3 Board
membersandtheGlobalDirector)whomeetregularlythroughouttheyear.Newtrusteesareappointed by
voteoftheexistingtrusteesattheAnnualGeneralMeeting.TheBoardmet6timesandtheExecutivemet 12
times during 2023; minutes are kept of each meeting.
DaytodaymanagementofthecharityisprovidedbyaSecretariatoffivestaffwithanFTEof3.4. Roles
includeGlobalDirector,OperationsDirector,MembershipCoordinator,HumanitarianResponse Coordinator,
andFinanceandComplianceOfficer.TheGlobalDirectorispartoftheExecutiveCommitteeandis invited,
along with the Operations Director, to Board meetings.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Thefinancialstatementsofthecharitablecompany,whichisapublicbenefitentityunderFRS 102,
havebeenpreparedinaccordancewiththeCharitiesSORP(FRS102)'AccountingandReporting by
Charities:StatementofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccounts in
accordancewiththeFinancialReportingStandardapplicableintheUKandRepublicofIreland (FRS
102)(effective1January2019)',FinancialReportingStandard102'TheFinancialReporting Standard
applicableintheUKandRepublicofIreland'andtheCompaniesAct2006.Thefinancial statements
have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Income
All incomeisrecognisedintheStatementofFinancialActivitiesoncethecharityhasentitlementto the
funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilitiesarerecognisedasexpenditureassoonasthereisalegalorconstructive obligation
committingthecharitytothatexpenditure,itisprobablethatatransferofeconomicbenefitswill be
requiredinsettlementandtheamountoftheobligationcanbemeasuredreliably.Expenditure is
accountedforonanaccrualsbasisandhasbeenclassifiedunderheadingsthataggregateall cost
relatedtothecategory.Wherecostscannotbedirectlyattributedtoparticularheadingsthey have
been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestrictedfundscanbeusedinaccordancewiththecharitableobjectivesatthediscretionof the
trustees.
Restrictedfundscanonlybeusedforparticularrestrictedpurposeswithintheobjectsofthe charity.
