In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval
the financial statements of Lambeth Somali Community Association for the year ended 31st March 2024
which comprise the statement of comprehensive income. statement of financial position, statement of
changes in equity and related notes from the company's accounting records and from information and
explanations you have given us.
As a practising member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), we are

report in accordance with ICAEW Technical Release 07116 AAF. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do

General information
The company is a private company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales. The address
of the registered office is Lambeth Somali Community Association, Annex Building, 13-15 Stockwell
Road, London, SW9 9AU.
Statement of compliance
These financial statements have been prepared in Complian￿ with the provisions of FRS 102 Section
1A, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland.. The Triennial
review 2017 amendments to the standard have been early adopted.
Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis.
Fund Accounting
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general
objectives of the charity. Unrestricted funds include a revaluation reserve representing the restatement
of investment asset at market values.
Restricted funds are subjected to restriction on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the
terms of an appeal.
Taxation
The taxation expense represents the aggregate amount of current and deferred tax recognised in the
reporting period. Tax is recognised in the statement of comprehensive income, except to the extent that
it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in capital and reserves. In this
case, tax is recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in capital and reserves, respectively.
Incoming Resources
These are included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SOFA) when-,

Depreciation
Depreciation is calculated so as to write off the cost or valuation of an asset. less its residual value,
over the useful economic life of that asset as follows..

residual value of tangible assets, the depreciation is revised prospectively to reflect the new estimates.
Other Income
This included in the accounts when received.
Resources Expanded
Expenditure is recognised on an accrual basis as a liability is incurred. Expenditure includes any VAT
which cannot be fully recovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates,.
Cost of generating funds comprises the costs associated wrth attracting voluntary income. Expenditure
comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its
beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of
indirect nature necessary to support them.
Governance costs include those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and statutory
requirements of the charity and include the accountancy fee and costs linked to the strategic
management of the charity
All costs are allocated be￿een the expenditure categories of the SOFA on a basis designed to reflect
the use of the resources. Costs relating to a particular activity are allocated directly, others are
apportioned on the appropriate basis.
Grants and Donations
Grants and donations only included in the SOFA when the company has unconditional entitlement to the
resources.
Contractual Income and perfomiance related grants
This is only included in SOFA once the related goods and setvices have been delivered.
