Activities

Tabor Centre provides day care facilities for disabled adults, at the same time allowing respite for family carers. The emphasis is on enabling, independent living and rehabilitation, and members can benefit from classwork, recreational activities, advice and support, and outreach services.

Objects: To Provide Day Care Support Facilities And Relief For Physically Handicapped Adults By The Provision Of A Centre And To That End;1. To Allow Each Member To Develop His/her Own Potential;2. To Allow Each Member To Have A Choice From A Range Of Activities;3. To Encourage And Enable Members To Participate And Benefit From Other Community Facilities;4. To Recognise The Rights Of People With Disabilities To Be Involved In Planning And Decision Making5. To Be Adequately Staffed By Voluntary And Paid Helpers Who Will 'Enable' Not 'Provide';6. To Facilitate Development Of Social And Vocational Skills, And Encourage Participation In Further Education Where Appropriate;7. To Raise Funds And Invite And Receive Contributions From Private Individuals, Businesses, Charitable Trusts, Public Bodies, And Any Other Persons Provided That The Centre Shall Not Undertake Any Permanent Trading Activities In Raising Funds For The Stated Objects; And8. To Do Such Other Lawful Things As May Be Necessary To Achieve The Above Objects.
