interest in and recogn ising those needs in the local area.
c) Instigatingand adhering toandfurtheringthe aimof the Pre-school Leaming Alliance.
Financial Review
As can be seen through the Annual Accounts registered, the value of Grants has increased from
previous years and remains an essential requirement for the running of the Pre-school. Whilst
Employment costs are of course the largest item of expenditure, our efforts have also been drawn
to the importance of strengthening general aspects of the Pre-school'sinfrastructure,. in terms ofthe
quality of equipmentand overall improvements, that will furtherraise the value of the Pre-school's
role in the community it seNes.
The work of improving infrastructure was started in 200819 and continued in 202012021.
Careful planning and good practice all across the board hasalso ensured thatall costs were covered
by the grants and fees, in a balanced drive to furthersecure the future of the Pre-school.

Managerfs Report
The pre-school had another challenging year coping with Covid 19 and adapting with new
arrangements to keep everyone as safe as possible. Staff raised to the challenge and facing
enormous stress every day to remain open and provide care and support every child's needs. The
pre-school remained opened without closing at all. It remains to say that the Strict cleaning
processes to keep everyone as safe as possible seemed to have worked.
Our pre-school had 53 children ranging from two years of age to four-and-a-half-year-olds, from
various backgrounds. Of those children, 26 were of pre-school age, 19 had English as an
additional language. The pre-school had 9 children on initial assessments and made 5 referrals to
Portage, 4 children on high ne￿IS funding, 5 children on extra targets. We had several
professionals supporting the multiple additional needs of the children and theirfamilies on a
regularbasis. Meetings took place via telephone and at a safe distancewearing masks.
Pre-school agreed to stop University and College studentsfrom attending oursetting dueto safety
for staff an d ch ildren.

Thank you to everyonefortaking part and supporting us in raising £4359.53, through the Coop
Local Communityfund. It is to support one-to-one interactions to supportchildren with their
emotional wellbeing and theircommunication skills, to better prepare them for school.
We also thankthe Parish Council fordonating £5000 to support ourpre-school as we struggled to
keep afloat.
We said good4Jye to Cassie and wished her all the best for the future.
Cassie has worked at our Pre-school for many years while pursuing herstudies in Earlyyears.
She has been a valued member of staff, and understandably decided to move on to further her
