## **NETTLEBED SURGERY MEDICAL TRUST** Charity Number 1102619 Nettlebed Surgery, Wanbourne Lane, Nettlebed, Henley-on-Thames RG9 5AJ ## **ANNUAL REPORT 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2021** The stated purpose of the Trust Fund is _for the relief of sickness and preservation of health among persons residing in the area of, and registered at, Nettlebed Surgery, by the provision of medical and nursing equipment and other assistance not normally provided by public funds_ . Each year our patients have been very generous, and in the past year they have been exceptionally so, despite, or maybe driven by the seemingly endless Coronavirus pandemic. The desire of patients to support their local NHS services, and each other, through this troubled time has been truly commendable. During the 2020-21 year the Trust raised a staggering £43,860.75 in donations including Gift Aided donations – a very significant increase on the previous year. In October 2021 we have received Gift Aid of £10,001.69 on the 2020-21 donations. Purchases made from the Trust not cleared at end of financial year and taken into 2021-22: IDDEA Solar panels balancing payment of £16,336.50 Restrictions due to the Covid pandemic have limited our ability to commission the planned work to upgrade the dispensary area. But Covid has also caused us to recognize the need to reconsider what might best enhance the patient experience going forward into the ‘new normal’. The generosity of our patients this year enabled us to purchase, amongst other things: - A new booking in screen (that hopefully we will soon be able to reactivate) - Two new ECG machines that link directly to patient records. - An additional vaccine fridge to accommodate the increased demand for flu vaccine; and of course, the more complicated Covid vaccine. - Solar panels for the roof, to counter balance fluctuations / breakages in the power supply and ensure a constant flow of power to the fridges and other electrical equipment. The Trust continues to cover maintenance and servicing of the surgery ECG machines, Spirometer and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors; none of which are supplied by the NHS.
