Reserves Policy Statement
The reserves held by the Charity enable us to support our main objective of advancing the education of the students at TWGGS.
Unrestricted Reserves: £115,637
Reserves enable us to support our charitable objectives in a consistent way. The spending pressures on schools are not always predictable and the reserves of the Charity enable the Trustees to support the School when required.
Grant Making Statement
The Charity invites applications for the funding of activities that support the advancement of the education of students at TWGGS.
The types of activities include extra-curricular costs incurred in PE, Music, Drama and Debating and other activities approved by the Trustees. It also covers the running costs and repairs for the school minibuses, subscriptions to various associations and school prizes and awards.
The Charity in particular invites applications from the Southfield Fund, which contributes towards the trip and fieldwork costs of students, whose parents are experiencing financial difficulties. Applications are supported by appropriate financial documentation and are monitored on an annual basis.
Grants are generally made annually to ‘TWGGS Clubs’ on approval of the Trustees.
Investment Policy
The Charity takes a totally risk averse approach to investing its reserves. Consequently, investments are held in bank reserve accounts to maximise interest.
Review of Risk
The Charity has opted to exert the exemption available to smaller charities.
