Through our 3upport young adults have been givpn the opportunlty to leam skills such as sewing. knitting, repair of mobile phones and cookingn>aking so that they are better prepared and equipped to socure jobs within the clothing. electronics and food industries. These young adults have successfully been able to gain employment and are norn)ally the only main breaiminnera in their families. This opportunty and assistsnce given by Iqra Educational Trust to these youngsters has significantty improved thoir lives for they arn now able to support their families and are no longer being a burden on society. We have also spefrt funds at the Special Education Centre Rawalpindi during Eid Adha where Qurbani meat vrds distributed to the children, many of whom are not able to afford to eat meat durfng the year. A lawn mO￿r was also purchased for the Rawalpindi Special Education school so that the children can play in the schoolgrounds which was previously not possible for them to do so due to overgrown grass and shrubs. Iqra Education Centre has al80 financially supported 10 students including whose families could not afford to provide them with an èducation. With the funding provided by the Iqra Education TTUSL the students in somè cases were able to study for their GCSE exams, others *pre able to study for their A levels and in some cases some students completed their degrèes in for example Human ResOU￿•S Management and PhYsiothe￿PY and thus increase their chances of getting employmonL Thè funding provided to these students enabled thom to contlnue and complete their secondary education successfully. Without theso donations they would not have been able to undertake se¢ondary and further education. TAR March 2024 Section D | Achievements and performance With the help of ALLAH s￿ and support of our valued donors. IQRA Educational Trust continued to support innumerable noble causes in the year 2023-2024. The list of some of the charity work that we carried out is as follows.. IQRA Overseas Charity Efforts: We have continued to support special needs schools in Pakistan. Books and other much needed learning materials have been sent to special needs schools throughout the province of Punjab Pakistan. Over 225 Ramadan Packs ￿re sent to Pakistan over the period of Ramadan 2024. Packs V￿re delivered to hard to reach areas ￿ffiere they *Ere most needed. This was done through our coordinators in Pakistan. Bazeecha Trust (Women's Hostel) were provided with clothes and food throughout 2023 and the first quarter of2024. It has been very rewarding to see a huge improvement in the INes of these women and the confidence they have gained. Water Pumps. taps and in addition many water coolers w￿re purchased and placed in the special needs schools and facilities by Iqra Charity Coordinators wttere they were needed. including Rawalpindi, Mulian, Lahore, Jhelum and Khanpor Distrj'cts. We have continued publishing educats'onal material and resources as well as Sign Language posters lo the special needs schools in Pakistan on a regular basis. Funds have also been used to purchase books. fumiture. computers and other educational resources vthich were distributed to special needs schoo5$ in Punjab District as well as the Deaf Teacher Training College in Lahore Pakistan. Warm winter clothes such as shawls and sweaters We￿ purchased in large numbers and sent to different schools and organisations in Pakistan to help students through the harsh winter. Over tle Christmas pefiod we helped poor Christian families in Pakistsn by purchasing and providing them Ih Clothes and gifts as they are often neglected at this time of year.
