The tr￿Ste¢S submit their annual re￿rt and financial statements for th¢ year ended
31 December 2020. The tntstees have adopted the provision of the Statement of
Recommended Accounting Practi¢e. Accounting and Rewrting by Charities
(SORP 2(X)5) i&sued in May 2(X)8.
In preparing the annual tcp)rt and financial stat¢ments the trustees have taken
advantage of the conc￿810nS allow￿ for smaller charities.
The charity. which is also known as -The Greek Orthodox Community of the Vugin
Mary Ele0￿- was registered on 11 Febnwy 2004.

Review of objectives, a¢tiviti¢s and achievements:
(a)
To advance the Greek Orth(Klox fait
Sunday service in Church is maintsined to high standarth and to continue thi&
the good remuneration of the resident priest has been mainthined.
(b) To advance education and in particular birt not exclusively education in the Gr¢¢k
Orthodox culture, including the Greek Language. dancing and drama.
During thc year we aC￿mMOdated Greek dancing and Cultural ev¢nts and drgma
through the Supplementary Greek School for Derby and Nottingham. The charity
supports the operation of the two Oreek Schools by providing facilities such as
making available the Community Hall for school events for dram& festivities for
Christmas celebrations and Easter, as w¢ll as for teaching.
The reli¢f of the ¢lderly, sick and disabled members of the Greek Community in
particular through the supporL financial or otherwise, of such activities as lunch
clubs:
The charity made availabl¢ during the year, the Community Hall. on a regular basis
for communal meetings of the elderly where w coffee, cakes etc were provided.
The charity SUPEK)rted through the auxiliary society -PhiloptOXO5"
the help and suppjrt for the elderly and the sick member of our community.

To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time
occupation in the interest of social welfare with the object of improving the
conditions of life of the said beneficiaries, in particular but not exclusively, the
younger and older members of the community.
The Community Hall is always made available for community events* promoting the
objectives of the charity, for ￿ligIous, educational, cultural and charitable purposes,
and we have improved the facilities for the younger and eld¢r members of the
community.

ststement.

The chsrity's trustees are r¢s￿)nSible for the preparation of the accounts. The
charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year and that an
indetKndent examination is needed.

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by
the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting
records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those
records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts. seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
The proc¢dur¢s undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in
an audiL and conscquently, I do not express an audit opinion on the VI￿ given by the
accounts.
