Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
This was qurte a dtfficult year. Our costs have increased dramatically and
we have had to w)rk very hard with extra fundraising to enable us to pay
our bills We are fortunate this year to be partnered with our local Pets at
Home Store where we are occasionally all0￿ed in store to raise funds
Amongst the animals rescued this year were two high profile (cruelty)
cases. They took a lot of veterinary care and long rehabilitation time but
we eventually managed to find perfect new homes for both. It brought us
great satisfaction that they have had a second chance in life.
We have also taken in the usual abandoned or neglect cases and
wherever pjssible have re-homed. Those, who for whatever reason, are
not eligible for r&homing remain at our sanctuary for the rest of their
lives. Some of our rescues may be very elderty or have an undertying
health issue which excludes Ihem for 4))nsideration for adoption. We do
however occasionally allow these animals to go on long tenn foster (often
to an elderly person vhK) wants companionship but cannot take on the
responsibilities of vet bills). We cover all vet bills for duration of the
foster
