Snowys Nursery and Preschool Trustees Annual Report for year ending 31[st] July 2025

The Trustees of Snowys Nursery and Preschool present their annual report and audited accounts for the year ended 31st July 2025 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 and the charities Constitution.

Our Objectives

Snowys provides a warm, safe and nurturing environment where children can explore, discover and play supported by a strong team of highly experienced staff who are passionate about working Early Years education. Snowys encourages and supports every child to develop skills and experiences to prepare them throughout their learning journey.

Our aim is to provide a happy and stimulating environment by working together with the families to achieve the very best outcomes for the children and to advance the education and early years development of nursery and preschool children with the emphasis on learning through play.

We provide a wide range of developmental and age-appropriate learning resources and activities, with a strong focus on outdoor learning and play. We also ensure that children have a varied and healthy diet, fresh air, exercise contributing to their physical, emotional and social development.

Learning Opportunities and Activities

Snowys offers activities designed to enhance the learning, individual needs and stages of development for each child. Our highly qualified staff ensure the curriculum is based on each child’s interests, needs and abilities that follows the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This year we covered topics including marvellous me, lets celebrate, once upon a time, patterns, shapes and colours, amazing animals and exploring our world.

Financial

An independent examiner’s report of the accounts for 2024-25 was carried out by Adam Piercy of Profectus Business Consulting, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales on 2[nd] November 2025.

As a charity, fundraising is vital to enable us to purchase new resources, equipment and make improvements to the setting. This year we refurbished the outdoor learning area, creating a new open space with purchased new wooden play equipment. The project was funded by grants and fundraising throughout the year.

Snowys reserves policy is to hold funds equivalent to two months' worth of operating expenditure to help the charity run effectively and ensure we can meet our obligations and cover unexpected expenses.

Future Plans

The Trustees continue to review the quality of the learning, development and safety of the children by supporting continuous personal development of staff, maintenance of the premises and ensure that the curriculum meets the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework. The Trustees need to maintain a sound infrastructure and financial base that benefits the children today and in the future.
