1[st] Bristol Annual Report Sep 2025 We are looking forward to the new squirrels who have recently joined last week and are sad to say goodbye to our older squirrels who are moving up to beavers! We are excited for this new phase for them and are excited to watch them grow, and we know they are ready for bigger adventures.
A huge thank you to our parent community, whether that’s been volunteering, getting the children to us on time, or fully participating in any home projects we have set. Our Drey has worked so well because of your support, Alhamdulillah.
We are excited to see what our third year of squirrels will bring!

AGM Report 2024-2025
Beavers continues to be one of the highlights of my week! Beavers has been filled with laughter and excitement this year.
During the year we have had 5 Beavers move up to cubs. We have had squirrels as well as new children join us leaving us with a total of 24 Beavers. We have had 4 young leaders volunteering, all of whom have gotten busy with studies so we would welcome parent support at the sessions. We continue to meet on Mondays 6:15-7:30pm.
The Beavers colony participated in a number of activities in line with the following badges: Pioneering, Builder and skilled (designed and built invention- one of which was a device to lock away parent’s phones!), Faith badge, safety badge (visit to fire station), Gardening, Adventure (attended Adventure Day at Woodhouse park), Experiment (rotation of experiments run by a scientist) and Animal friend (pets at home visit which the beavers enjoyed).

We had a break for Ramadan, however the beavers were set a 30 day challenge working towards their personal challenge badge. They did very well and those who completed it got gifted a torch.
There have been many trips organised by the District- Beavaree, BJAM, Puxton Park and we are looking forward to the 40 year celebration next year.
I would like to thank them greatly in particular Elisa as the beavers have had so much fun and are able to meet the wider beaver community.
We have also attended trips organised by MSF- Summer camp and MSF Olympics which the beavers did very well showcasing ability to be independent. It is great to see more beavers signing up for camps and I hope this continues.
Our award system 'Beaver of the week' has now switched to being a medal that the beaver’s take home.
I would like to thank all parents for your continued support of beavers and I welcome parents to get in touch with me about the talents and skills that you have and would like to share with the beavers. Thank you!
Jazakallah Khair and Thank you!

Cub Pack Report
Cub Pack report
CUBS AGM Report 24/25
This year has been another busy and rewarding one for our Cub Pack!
We currently have 32 members, with several Cubs moving up to Scouts and some Beavers joining and being invested into Cubs.
We’ve continued to link our activities with Islamic principles, such as learning how to perform wudhu using less water as part of our Environmental Conservation badge, highlighting the importance of caring for Allah’s creation. We also marked Ramadan with date-making, creating bird feeders, and learning the story of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him). Each session begins with Surah Al-Fatiha and a Hadith, helping Cubs connect their Scouting values with their faith.
Over the year, we’ve awarded over 200 badges — including both activity and staged badges. Cubs have worked hard on badges such as:
-
Athletics & Athletics Plus
-
Personal Safety
-
Scientist
-
Disability Awareness
-
Local Knowledge

-

-

-

-

Many Cubs are also working towards their Challenge Badges, and we are proud to have presented one Silver Chief Scout Award this year.
We enjoyed a fantastic horse riding event, where Cubs earned 19 equestrian badges — a brilliant day learning to groom and ride horses.
Other memorable highlights included:
-
MSF Camp, with Cubs earning their Nights Away and MSF badges
-
Sailing sessions and a Woodhouse adventure day out
-
The MSF Olympics
-
Visits from St John Ambulance and the Fire Station
This year, we also introduced Cub of the Week for both boys and girls. It has been fantastic to celebrate effort, teamwork, and good behaviour on a weekly basis — a great way to recognise the amazing work our Cubs put in each session.
Our Cubs have loved hands-on sessions such as catapult making, learning Morse code, and our popular annual firelighting and marshmallow roasting activity.
It’s been a fun, faith-filled, and adventurous year — full of learning, teamwork, and achievement for all our Cubs!

As the group grows we need more parent volunteers to come forward and put their name down on the weekly parent rota. We are looking forward to another jam packed year InshaAllah where the children can grow into confident and inspired young adults.
