Structure, Governance and Management
The Maximum Life Youth Project Is & registered charity governed by Its Constitution adopted on 25" July 2003 and amended 28™ December 2003. The Maximum Life youth Project registered as a charity on 14 January 2004
The members of the Executive Committee are elected at the Annual General Meeting by the members of the Charity. All trustees are required to serve a two year service before retiring from office,
The Constitution states that the Executlve Committee shall consist of no less than 3 members with no maximum number.
RiskManagement;
Procedures are In place to ensure compilance with health and safety of staff, volunteers, service users and visitors to the Centre, All procedures are perlodically reviewed to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of the charity. .
Objectives and Activities for Public Benefit

The advancement of education of young people In the area of Hull and East Riding which will benefit from the provision of facllitles for recreation or other leisure time occupation, In the Interests of social welfare, for persons in need of such facilities with the object of Improving the conditions of life for such person.
In developing the main objectives for the following year the Trustees have given regard to the Charlty Commission guidance on public benefit, Our main objectives for the following year are:

Achievements and Performance
Review of Activities 2023

« Maxtife run weekly youth session’s for maxkidz, seniors and breakfast club as well as weekly Dance sesslon and outreach sessions.

e A group of young people took part in a workshop with the East Hull area team as part of thelr food champion project.

e The young people also began rehearsals for their next show In November (Hop on Hop off)

Financial Review
During this financlal year the charity received £88,408 worth of Income (restricted £77,900 and unrestricted £10,508), Expenditure for the year is £92,049 (restricted £75,390 and unrestricted £15,858), so this year deficit Is £3,641.

Reserves Policy
The charity alms to hold 3 months’ worth of running costs under unrestricted funding, this will be reviewed annually.

Statement of Trustees Responsibilities
The Charities Act requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, In accordance with the Charity Commission Guidance the Trustees have elected to prepare the accounts on the Receipts and Payments basis. This is an acceptable format for all non-company charities with an Income below £250,000.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. The trustees are also responsible for safequarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other Irregularities.
Statement of disclosure of information to Independent Examiner
The Charity has an Income between £25,000 and £1m and therefore falls under the Independent Examination regime. We, the Trustees of the Charity who held office at the date of approval of these financial statements, each confirm so far as we are aware, that:

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Members of The Maximum Life Youth Project
I report on the accounts of The Maximum Life Youth Project for the year ended 31 August 2023, which are set out on pages 10 to 12.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this period under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It Is my responsibility to:

e examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act; e to follow the procedures lald down in the General Directions glven by the Charity Commissioners under section 145 (5)(b) of the Charities Act; and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out In accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination Includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also Includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures In the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide ail the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion Is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to belleve that in, any material respect:

Hull City Cound! — HAF Funding
Restricted funding recelved from Hull City Council to fund the winter 2022 and summer 2023 Holiday Activity Fund, which Includes activities and food for young children within the Hull and East Riding,
Two Riding Community Foundation
Restricted funding received from Two Ridings CommF u ndsnity(£1,980) to provide dance activities for young children with in the Hull & East Riding area.
Hull City Council — Outreach Project
Restricted funding received from Hull City Council to contribute to the pay for an outreach support person for the Hull & East Riding.
Hull City Council — Targeted Early Help Youth Provision
Restricted funding received from Hull City Council to contribute to the pay and overheads for this ongoing project, .
Tesco — Groundworks

Restricted funding received from Henry Smith to pay for theatre trip.

4 Taxation
The Maximum Life Youth Project is a registered charity, registration number 1101523. All the Charitles’ income Is applied to its charitable objectives and the association is therefore exempt under current legislation from most forms of taxation.

No remuneration was pald to Trustees during the year out of the funds of the charity,
No reimbursement of expenses was paid to Trustees during the year out of the funds of the charity.
