directors for the purposes of comp&ny law) are responsible for the preparation of the fin8ncial
slatemenls and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view, and for such internal ¢ontrol as

going concern basis of accounting unless the truste¢s either intend to liquidate the charity or to cease
operations. or have no realistic alternative bul to do so.
AUDITOR'S RESPONSJBILITIES FOR THE AUDIT OF THE FU¥ANCtAL STATEMENTS
Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial stat¢m¢nls as a whole
are free from material misslat¢m¢nt, whether due to frdud or error, and to issue an auditor's report that
includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a hi¥h level of assurance, bul is not a guarantee that an
audit conducted in accordan¢¢ with ISAS (UK) will always delect a material misstatement when it
exists. Mi5Stalemenls can arise from fraud or error gnd are considered material if. individually or in
the 8ggrcgate, rhey could r¢&sonably be expected lo influ¢n¢e the economic decisions of users taken
on the basis of these financial statements.
ItT¢gularities, including fraud, are instances of non-complianc¢ with laws and regulations. We design
procdure5 in line with our responsibilities. outlined above. to d¢t¢ct material misstatem¢nts in respect
of irregularities, including fraud. The extent to which our procedures are capable of detecting
IJTe8ularities, including fraud is detailed below:
We obtained an understanding of the le881 and regulatory frameworks that are applicable lo the
company through discussion with th¢ directors and senior managemeni and identified which
were most 5ignifiLanl with resp¢¢t to the financial slal¢menls. We identified financial reporting
le8is18tion (including related companies le8islation), charities legislation and tMx&tion legi51alion
as being most significant to these financial statements. We communicated these identified
fromeworks throughout our audit team and r¢mained alert to any indications of non-¢omplianc¢
thTh)u8houl th¢ audit. We ensured thal the engagement team had sufficient competence and
capability to identify or recognise non-compliance with laws and regulations.
We disruss¢d with th¢ directors and senior management the polici¢s and procedures regording
compliance with th¢s¢ l¢g81 and regulatory frameworks.
We assessed the su￿¢ptiblj1ty of the company's financial 5tateTT]ents to material mis5tatem¢nt
due to non-compliance of legal and regulatory frameworks, including how fraud might o¢¢ur. by
enquiry wilh the direclors and senior management during the planning &nd finalisation phases of
our audit and using proprietary disclosure checklists. This was delemiined to be low.
Based on this underslanding we designed our audit procedures to identify non-ci)mpliance with
the identified legal and regulatory framework. which were part of our pro¢edure5 on the related
financial statement items. Our procedures included reviewing the company's internal controls
policies and procedures. reviewing the minute5 of board m¢¢tings and correspondence with
regulatory bodies including HMRC, testing transactions outside the nomial course of ihe
business and journal entries, and discussions with the directors and senior management.
