Community Watchmen Ministries Trustees Annual Report
The Objects of the charity are to advance the Christian religion by equipping, empowering, and activating Christians to make a difference in their local communities across Merseyside, nationally and internationally.
Summary of the main activities in relation to these objects
The team continues to be led by Sue Sinclair and the Leadership Team. This consists of Steve Brooke, Adrienne Mitchell, Ali Rimmer, Pam Shaw and Sue Williams with the recent addition of Jackie Johnson. Rosemary Burden continues as a Trustee but has stepped down from the Leadership Team due to caring responsibilities. No remuneration was paid to any of the Trustees except for normal travel, administration and accommodation expenses paid to Sue Sinclair. This was agreed by all the Trustees. CWM has no paid employees, and we continue to be dependent upon our amazing team of 43 volunteers.
Additional details of objectives and activities
We also have a wonderful team of experienced Advisors who reflect who we are and our vision for going forward. This year we were pleased to add Gill Gifford who has many years of experience in ministry. The additional Advisors are Brian Mills, Jane Holloway, John Sutton-Smith, Dave Lathom and Christine Larkin. Mike Gowan has stepped down officially but is still available should we need his advice. We have been in contact with them all throughout the year and really appreciate their counsel, wisdom and support.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
We began our work in 2002, and we are always continuing to develop new initiatives which further the objectives of our charity to advance the Christian faith. We encourage community participation locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally (via zoom) as we work with Churches.
We believe in the power of prayer as we seek God on behalf of our nation and beyond. Our team usually meets twice a week to PRAY via zoom, which makes it possible for those who live across the nation and overseas in Malawi and Ghana to participate regularly. We catch up with them in person when they are back visiting in the UK. These zoom meetings have been well attended giving everyone the opportunity to be actively involved.
Throughout the year we led “Prayer for the Nation” via zoom, concentrating our prayer for the Monarchy, Government (especially for the General Election on 4th July) and the Church. Each month we assembled up to 100+ people which was helpful when the girls in Southport were violently attacked on 30th July, as we were able to quickly respond.
As soon as we heard what was happening in Southport, we mobilised emergency prayer across our region and nation. The following day we led national prayer via zoom with people who had been praying following the murders in Nottingham, and David Amiss MP’s violent death. This meant we were actually online praying as the outrageous rioting began in Southport, before spreading across our nation.
We immediately provided prayer support for the emergency services and clergy. When it was appropriate we attended the vigil site and the Hart Street area where we prayed with families, Police Officers, Councillors and the media. We attended Elsie Dot’s funeral where we prayed for all involved, the family and the paramedics who had been in attendance on the day.
In September we hosted a worship evening welcoming people from across the Southport Churches and community. This was well attended from across the region and nation as people came to show their support to those effected. We met with the Southport intercessors, and later ministered at their Prayer Conference in the Lake District.

The Prayer Cabinet has continued to develop and now meets bi-monthly in different boroughs across the region. We gather Leaders from all denominations to worship, pray for one another and for our region. We led Momentum over three days in October with Rachel Hickson and Helen Azer. We shared the vision to a wider gathering and provided ministry to our CWM Team, and Leaders.
The Big PUSH started meeting monthly in January 2009 and since then we have met 181 times (including via online during covid restrictions). We now gather together in King’s Church, Frodsham where people come from all across the region and nation. Many people have shared how their lives and families have been transformed by the ministry of the Big PUSH as we have always focussed on God’s presence.
Thanks to the continuing work of Steve Brooke and Richard Robinson, the Big PUSH is recorded and uploaded on to our YouTube.com/@BigPush channel. This enables people from all around the world to connect with the worship and the word shared.

We attend and support the monthly TFH Leaders Prayer Meetings and wider prayer gathering for our region.
We served The Jesus Outpouring team with their event in the Wirral through prayer and outreach ministry on 17th August, and the full event over 27th to 29th September. This brought several Churches and ministries together from across the Wirral to reach out with the Gospel. Many lives were impacted.
We have continued to provide support and mentoring for local and national Churches, Ministry and Workplace Leaders through prayer, worship and ministry. This includes the Merseyside Christian Police Association which meets monthly for prayer.
It has been a delight to host international teams from Canada, America, Poland, and Uganda. This is always an opportunity for us to learn from each other. We also hosted Jim and Mary Ware plus the North Devon House of Prayer Team who shared their story, prayed across our region and ministered at the Big PUSH and Ormskirk Christian Fellowship
Our CWM Advance at Foxhill was held between13th to 15th September and attended by 26 members of the team. This was a great time of worship, fun and developing our team both spiritually and relationally.

We have been involved with two National Prayer Networks and the Roundhouse based in Oxford which brings leaders together from across the nation.
Several members of our team have been involved supporting Loved to Worship which is currently based in St Helens. They have served on the worship team, been a part of the prayer ministry team and prophesied.
We provided 6 sessions of Prayer Training in St Helens which were attended by 168 people plus our recordings are available via our YouTube channel and have been listened to 1345 times.
We have supported Jane Tompkins and the Liverpool Tent Mission which was held in Newsham Park between 18th to 23rd May. This was a great success with several Churches working together under the banner of The Jesus Outpouring.
We hosted 2 CWM Away days the first was in Wirral and the second was at the Beacon House of Prayer, Stoke-on-Trent. These were well attended by the team, with wonderful times of worship, ministry and prayer.
15th and 16th May 2025 we returned to Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel to pray once again for the Royal family. This was a powerful time of divine appointments.
We hosted an immediate emergency prayer call and zoom responding to the Liverpool FC cup tour when a vehicle crashed into the crowd in Water Street. Once again, we provided prayer support for members of the emergency services and Chaplains who were mobilised to help. We believe that there were many miracles, resulting in no fatalities, because we prayed prior to this weekend and immediately as this situation unfolded.
During this year we have TRAVELLED to minister at meetings and provided training for churches and conferences in Newton, the Cairngorms, Birmingham, and Yorkshire. We have also been interviewed for a Flame FM radio broadcast.
This has been a very busy and fruitful year for our amazing team. We give thanks for our wonderful Leadership Team and our incredible team from across the region, nation and nations. As they have shared their gifts it has been a delight to witness every person developing and growing in their identity. We are confident and excited about what lies ahead, and we believe we are now well positioned to flourish in the coming years.
