For the public benefit to preserve and protect health and relieve sickness in particular of children particularly but not exclusively by the promotion of research and treatment of childhood disease and illness on the basis that the results of any research will be disseminated to the public.

Report of the Trustees
For the year ended 30th June 2025
The trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 30th June 2025.
Review of the business
The day-to-day business is controlled by the Council who meet periodically.
During the year, a very successful fund-raising golf day, two bike rides and a marathon (all lead by Trustees) were held which generated net funds of £31,976 and £24,737 and £4,631 respectively for the charity. In addition, generous donations of £48,300 were received from the Trustees and £5,062 from the public. Donations of £136,222 were made towards research and alleviation of children’s illnesses and welfare, principally to Great Ormond Street Hospital, SCT Bone Cancer Trust, Spread A Smile, Playskill and Rainbow Trust.
Financial review
The results for the year are set out on page 5. The Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Accounting Practice and Reporting by Charities, published in March 2005, with the aim of presenting a true and fair view of the financial position of the charity.
During the year, funds were generated from donations received, bank interest received and the fund-raising activity. At the balance sheet date there is £126,905 cash at bank which continue to generate income.
Trustees
The Trustees are elected by the Members of Council and remain trustees for life or until retirement.
Funding in kind
There was no funding in kind during the year.

Independent Examiners’ report
For the year ended 30th June 2025
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Children’s Welfare and Research Foundation for the year ended 30" June 2025, which are set out on page 5.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trustee’s accounts carried out under s.145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under s. 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: (1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by s. 130 of the Act; or

(2) the accounts do not accord with those records.

(3) the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirements that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
