In the interests of social welfare. to improve the conditions of life of the inhabitants of
the parish of St Erme, Cornwall. Without distinction of poltlical, religious or other
opinions by th8 provision and maintenance of=
A Sports and Community Centre for the use of inhabitants, including use for:
> Meetings, lectures and classes
> Other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation
A recreation gr￿nd for use by the inhabitants
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the benefit in relation to these
objects
The Community Larder.:
This was started in response to the Covid outbreak in 2020 when th8 Parish
Emergency Plan was put in place. The Trust joined in relief work with the Parish
Council but after the pandemic re￿ded and lrfe got back to normal the cost- of-
living crisis indicated an on-going need in the village and this small food bank
continued to help assist people with difficulties.
The offer to users needed to be amended because of experience over the 2 years of
Covid. It was open to all. without assessment. like other similar larders locally and a
memtErship scheme was started lo help with administratKin.Our records indicate
that our users were local with a wid8 spread of ages and a large proportion of
wort(ing families.
An improved supply line wrth Fareshare helped with supply and we continued to
collect from supennarkets such as M&S and Lidl and also ALDI later on in 2022.
Some extra provisKin was made for Child￿n'S needs using some small specffic
grants.

The Trust oblained a grant Of£￿ tr￿n the Ccynwall Community Foundati￿ to
ass￿ with the wrthase of some fcKKI sto(*s to maintain supply. Most of this was
spent by the end of the year. Carthl slewardship of the grant montes and donatil￿$
has alluHed continuation of Ihe Cc*nmunty Larder whith provides C￿ to
members of the rx)mmunty may find themselves with dIffic￿ty.
General Review.
The foots continues to be on ¢xKnmwMty in line with our ￿lginal Trust deed.
A key feature of the Communty Centre sile is the larger (Jw*et r￿d to the norlh and
the ft￿tball pitch on the south side.
Close liaisrm is maÈntained wifh the dubs that ￿ the fa(xlty.
St Ern￿ FoottMII Club 1x￿tinued to play rwilarly and other kx31 dths such as Truro
Youth FC and Truro GrasshoppeF5 have played here. Towards the end of the year a
new venture. based in the village. that aimed to bring f￿tball coathiNJ to early
primary school age children stsrted to use our faclity. Thts v￿ture- Trtspen rw.
is focussing on thildren in the villag8.

Reguiar hall hire has stsbilised ov8r the year. wilh uws ind￿1￿) fitness
organisations, parts of the NHS. BIL￿￿ Dor#xs and c(xnmwity gr￿pS a￿1
parties and events.
We continue to alk)w discounts for local and tharitable bodies. The Centre is used
for Parish Cwncil Meetings and the Comwall Councillorfs regulaT surgeries as well
as public consultatK)n events. Tr c￿tre is ts venue the St Ern)e Fun Day
which took place in July.

sts and attendance.

and further maintenanc* to the site *ill be needed. This has been Fgrt of the Trust
activity for over 20 years.

changing economic dimate.

in the light of the sharp rise in energy prices.

The need to support others in the village is stll in fo￿5 ar¥J the Emergency Plan
work still goes on but at a more modest level.
Structure and Financial revlew
Our accounts show that the net unrestri(tsJ cash furKts this year stand at £
but as they are wepared on a 'R&%ipts and Paymeny basis some fiwlh8r detail is
needed.
Overall. there are sc*ne large differen￿ in the detal COm￿ed ￿th 2022
and these refiect the move away from ts covid &nergerry p8riod and the onset of
the energy a￿1 eo)nomic difficullies.
Income.
Hire In(￿me rose to £37076 this may b8 due lo the further recovery fr(Mn the
covid period and a rise in rates. The regular users of the Centre, many of whom
are from the NHS and other health organi&qtions have stayed loyal and we are
grateful for this.
The retum ofthe gift-axled profits from St EM￿ PlayiTrJ F￿dS Ltd. that rurts the bar
and ￿terir¥J. after a two - year gap. gave us £12194.
Fund raising was higher than last year with total rgxipts of £9545 hel￿￿ by a
successful Bonfire Nigm at £2919 that was pKthbly down to the gKM)d reputation of
the display and the demise of other neaty events. BiTvJo T￿ipts were also w) at
£1981.
Exponditure.
fdlowing the expiry of our ￿ed rate deal in De(wnber 2021. The rate rose to a point
where we there advised of s(xne s8￿UnIt (£vning l)ut managed to get a fixed rate of
32.9p to June 2024. There has been lilue suppjrt under the govemment sdlemes as
we a fixed rate ￿nIsed. As report￿1 last year there ￿ds a ￿rry forward of
