TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30[TH] JUNE 2025

The Trustees are pleased to present their Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 30th June 2025. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out on page 8 and comply with the charity’s trust deed and applicable law.

ACTIVITIES, STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Our theme for the Year to 30th September 2024 continued as the “ Year of Harvest ” with the theme text John 4:35 and from October 2024 we moved into the “ Year of Service ” with our theme text taken from Mark 10:45. Our year had a monthly theme encapsulated in the phrase SURRENDER ALL with S standing for Senses; U for U- Turn; R for Robe; R for Ring; E for Enriched; N for Nobody; D for Dying to self; E for Exalted and R for Receptive taking us to the end of the church year in June.

On July 20th the church organised a seaside trip to Broadstairs that was well attended and enjoyed by all. The same month one of our youth proudly displayed 3 trophies that he had recently won at football making us all proud. Also, in the same month, member Ruth-Anna French graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in Psychology.

In August Pastor David volunteered at the Church of God World Fellowship led Youth Retreat in Cefn Lea, Wales where he taught tennis, led a climb up the nearby mountain and also led teaching sessions on the end times.

TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30[TH] JUNE 2025 - continued

During September 2024 one of our members who is a builder volunteered to renovate a large garage belonging to another member for no cost except the building materials. The church decided to do this to provide a long-term rent-free storage option for some of our belongings at a cost that would be less than the expected long term storage costs in a private storage facility. The day after the garage refurbishment was completed, we began moving our goods to storage! The entire move was carried out using volunteer drivers, and packers from our membership with only van hire and electrical removal costs incurred.

On 29th September 2024 we held our final service at Soul Refresh, Lee Green before we cleared and finally vacated the building on October 11th 2024 as the redevelopment plans for the entire site moved ahead. Until the end of the year the church met virtually by Zoom. Then on January 6th 2025, we moved into our new meeting space at Kingswood Halls , Kingswood Place, Lee. It was a joy to be meeting in person once again.

In November 2024 we were delighted to be informed that Freddie Kirigi, who had become a Christian in our midst a very long time ago, was to be ordained as a Deacon at his church in Kiambu, Kenya.

In November 2024 the church celebrated the wedding of Bro Carl and Sis Mia Finlayson.

On December 8th the church hired Brandram Road Community Centre in Lee to celebrate with an early Christmas service and dinner .

On 21st January 2025 Pastor David’s father passed aged 94. Ministers who are friends to the ministry and the leaders of the church stepped in to lead services whilst Pastor David and his family were in mourning.

TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30[TH] JUNE 2025 - continued

Our Ladies group, Women of Defined Beauty , continued to meet regularly throughout the year and our Men’s Group met less frequently.

Pastor David continued to minister occasionally at a prison where he would preach during the Sunday service. He has also ministered for other churches but less so this year following the death of his father.

In addition to our pastors, David and Sandra French, our own members ministered in preaching in our services during the year including Deacon Francis Okonkwo; Deaconess Rani Okonkwo; Deaconess Deon Thompson; Minister David Chambers; and Brother Joshua Okusanya. Our worship leader was Sister Ola George who worked tirelessly. Deaconess Deon Thompson has been a member of our Executive Board and also our Treasurer and trustee from the founding of the church and her contribution has been immense. Pastor Sandra has led the Ladies Group in addition to her pastoral duties; and as a qualified counsellor she has often offered her expertise to counsel church members.

TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30[TH] JUNE 2025 - continued

Bro Tonye & Minister David Chambers. Sis Ola George

Despite the challenges of relocation, the charity has seen a small increase in income and a reduction in expenditure, partly due to 2 months without renting whilst we looked for a new premises and helped by a modest contribution towards relocation from our previous landlords, Galliard Homes Ltd . This increase in income coupled with the reduction in costs allowed us to see a surplus for the year and to substantially add to our building fund reserves as we continue to aspire to one day purchase our own building.

The trustees are grateful to the Lord for another year passed during which the Ministries faced the challenge of being without premises to meet for 2 months. The Ministries are grateful to all members for their continued faithfulness and support during this period of transition. The Ministries is grateful to all those who have stood with us in positions of leadership, especially fellow members of our trustee board and serving ministers and officers gives God especial thanks for their long and continued commitment to the Ministries.

We trust that you have found this report useful and we would welcome any feedback whether constructively critical or positive.
