' stroke or have experience of some-one who is affected by a stroke
support groups
listening to peoples worries and concerns, being a sympathetic ear.
In planning activities for the year, trustees pay due regard to the Charity Cornmission's
guidance on public benefrt.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
In the year under review, the charity report5 a sijrplus of unrestricted funds of almost

extremely grateful to those who give so generously, whether by sponsored events,
carporate. donations, gifts or in memory of loved ones. The charity was also grateful to
receive the remaining funds of Stourbridge Stroke Club following their dissolutlon.

protecting its reserves for the ts.mes ahead.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Rèserves policy
The Trustees are concerned that the lack of CO￿ funding avallable from statutory bodies
imposes evernore reliance on general don&ltions and external grant applications. Funds
available remain sufficient to pemit the charity to continue in operation in the medium term,
given continued support fiom donors. It 18 the twstees policy to ideally maintain a cash
reserve equivalent to al least 6 months core expenditure to enable altematlve funding
sourc881o be obtained.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

The charity is controlled by its governing document and constitutes a limited company,
limited by guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006.
