The trustees are also director5 of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act
2006, present their report bwth the financial ststements of the charity for the year ended
31 st March 2023. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Repo￿ng by
Charib'es. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to tharities preparing their
accounts in accordance wtth the Finan￿al Reporknng Standard 102 {effective 1 January
2016).
OWECTNES AND ACTlVtriES
Dudley Stroke Association - a local independent thanty - establish8d in 1987 provides
guidan￿, support and information to peopte who have suffered a stroke and their
familieslfn'ends by various means. such as.
the provision ol information packs - free of charge
people to visit- many of our volunteèrs arè people have themselves suffered
stroke or have experience of some-one who is affected by a stroke
support groups
listening to peoples worries and cOn￿M$. being a sympathetic ear.
In planning activrttes for the year, trustees pay due regard to the Charity Commission's
guidance on public benefit.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
In the year under review, the chanty reports a small deficit of £331. The charity ￿lieS
predominanty on donations to continue its core work and is extremely grateful to those who
give so generously. whether by sponsored events. corporate donations. gifts or in memory
of loved ones.
The charity also acknowledges grants from Big Lottery Communty Fund, Sports England
and NHS Black County & Binningham ICB administered by Dudley CVS.
The Trustees consKler these results to be sab'sfactory in the current financial climate.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves pollcy
The Trustees are Con￿rned that the lack of core fijnding available from statutory bodies
imposes evermore rel￿nce on general donations. Funds available remain sufficient to
pemiit the charity to cOnts'n￿ in operats'on in tt)e medium tenn, given continued support
from donors. It is the trustees policy to hleally maintain a cash reseprfe equivalent to at least
6 months core expenditure to enable altemalive funding Sour￿ to be obtained.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCEAND IAANAGEMENT

The charty is controlled by its goveming document and constitutes a limited company,
limited by guarantee, as defined by the Companies Acl 2006.

NHS BC & Bimiingham ICB: To undertake 6 and 12 month stroke reviev•S.

wards vthere rates of stroke are high.

2.1 Accounting cx)nvention
The financial slatements are prepared under the historical cost convenb'on and in accordance
with the Chariti'es SORP (FRS102 (effeth"ve January 2016) and Companies Act 2006.
2.2 Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation.
Depreciab'on is provided at rates calculated to write off the ￿st of each asset over its expected
