**Objects:** A) TO PROMOTE AND ORGANISE CONCERTED ACTION FOR THE PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION OF THE LANDSCAPE AND NATURAL BEAUTY OF THE LAKE DISTRICT AND THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA AS A WHOLE;B) TO CO-OPERATE WITH OTHER BODIES HAVING SIMILAR OBJECTS OR INTERESTS, PROVIDED THAT IN FURTHERANCE OF THE COMPANY'S OBJECTS THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MAY FROM TIME TO TIME TAKE ACTION CONCERNING AREAS NEAR BUT OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA.

**Activities:** FLD strives to protect and enhance the landscape and natural beauty of Cumbria and the Lake District by working to influence relevant decision-makers and policy processes, initiating and participating in landscape-orientated projects, making grants to local projects and co-operating with other bodies having similar objectives or interests.
