Treasurer’s Annual Report

2023

The Executive Committee of Unity of UK St Lucian Associations would like to extend thanks to all our members for the help and support we receive working together and hope it will continue for the coming year.

My personal thanks to all members of the committee and member associations for their continued support.

The Charity has been able to maintain its support to key programmes. Trustees’ meetings continue to be conducted via Zoom or telephone calls to reduce costs on hall rental charges.

Fundraising

The association has derived its funding from events and other activities staged throughout the year. We celebrated our 44[th] Independence at the Stratford Town Hall. The event was successful, and it yielded a fair profit. We did not apply directly to public funds for donations, grants, or other assistance for this year. However, we did receive a donated prize from the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority which was raffled to raise funds.

The committee are currently planning the coming year’s events.

Our account with Lloyds Bank has been well maintained and the balances have been recorded in the executive committee minutes.

All expenses incurred while pursuing activities on behalf of the association have been refunded in accordance with the Charity Commission guidelines. The only donation made in the year was:

▪ £150 donation to Mrs M Jn Baptiste for her late husband’s funeral expenses.

The sum donated is given in the accounts which have been submitted to the Charity’s Commission.
