Treasurer’s Annual Report
2021
The Executive Committee of Unity of UK St Lucian Associations would like to extend thanks to all our members for the help and support we receive working together and hope it will continue for the coming year.
My personal thanks to all members of the committee and member associations for their continued support.
This year we donated to:

➢ Repatriation Flight Assistance to a stranded Saint Lucian visitor ➢ Grants were also given to our affiliated member Associations ie:

➢ Canaries Association
All associations have been given grants to enable them to assist their own community projects and charities.
Our account with Lloyds Bank has been well maintained and the balances have been recorded in the executive committee minutes.
The accounts have been submitted to the Charity’s Commission.
Regrettably, the pandemic has created a dramatic fall on our Association’s income as all our fundraising events and activities have been cancelled until further notice. However, we are still trying to help our communities as much as possible.

❖ Opening Balance
Represents the total amount in Unity’s bank account, at the start of the financial year 01/06/2020
❖ Events
The events consist of one Anniversary Fundraising activity and a Cultural Event. Both events were held on-line.
Our main expenditure was for hosting the online 42[nd] Independence Anniversary Celebration. Our expenditure also includes administration e.g. Webhosting/ maintenance and running cost of the Association.

❖ Grants
Grants to affiliated associations £4,500
Grants to the member associations have been paid for the 42[nd] Anniversary. The affiliated member associations are: - Anse La Raye; Canaries; St Lucia Association 1963. The associations work under the same key work objectives to raise awareness and promote the activities of Unity of UK St Lucian Associations amongst the wider community.
Unity’s reserve remained in the account.
Balance
Our current financial position as at 31[st] May 2021 stands at £25,443.73. It must be noted however, like other Charities, as a result of COVID-19 the Charity has suffered severe setbacks i.e. all its fundraising activities had had to be cancelled. However, request for financial assistance continues as we strive to assist the community.
