ANNUAL REPORT TO THE CHARTIES COMMISSON Over the past year we have 8rown numerically with new people lolning us regularly though out the year. We meet on a Sunday morning at 10;30am for worship, teaching, prayer and fellowship, we also meet informally in homes. At various times through out the year we have Vlsiting speakers from other churches and Chrlstian organi2ations that widen our vision, one of our leader5 does a thought for the day on YouTube which has quite a large following. We have links with Awaken Love which is a charity that supports an orphanage and school in Kenya. Some of our congre8ation support some of the children and we take up an offering when they have a pressing need such as repairing a storm damaged roof. or repalring a broken down vehlcle. We also support a child in Togo that the letter writing group correspond with regularly through Compassion. We have several interest groups that we call connect groups which serve the wider community, which includes a craft group which bring their own projects to work on. A wrlting group that have a subject set for them and they write a short story about it, a photography group, a letter writing group that write to people who are lonely, a carers support group that help people caring for a loved one5, then we have singing for fun where we have a mix of people including people with dementia come from a nearby care home. They really en joy it. A seniors coffee morning for the elderly when, they have coffee and cake they enjoythe quiz and a good chat. All these 8roups meet once a month. in the summer and at Christma5 we put on a party when we bring all the groups together. We also have a gardening group and a workshop group for men and woman, that meets weekly, and we have someone who is qualified to oversee the session in the workshop. We are involved with Baby Basics UK and give a Moses basket full of items needed for a newborn baby and mum, the referrals come through midwifes or heath visitors when they see the need from across south somerset. This is enabled through donations of items required or money. There is a dedicated group of volunteers that make this happen. We are also involved with Sunflowers of Somerset who distribute seeds throughout the community15chools, care homes, cafes, galleries, etc) to brighten the environment, encourage creativity. Financially we are in a good place with people giving regularly. we have a number that gift aid, we also received a grant from Somer5et Community Foundation. The trustees meet once a quarter are regularly in contact though our what's app group. We are up ¢0 date with our safe guarding training.
