## **Trustees' Annual Report**
## **Objectives and Activities**
Slaidburn Village Hall exists to provide and maintain facilities for the benefit of the local community. The charity seeks to promote community participation by making the hall available for recreational, social, educational and charitable activities.
## **Achievements and Performance**
During the year, the trustees increased the size of the management committee to bring additional skills, experience and capacity. This was undertaken with the objective of increasing the charity's income in order to further its charitable purposes, while also strengthening the charity's financial position.
The enlarged committee enabled the charity to develop and support more activities and identify additional opportunities to generate income. The trustees are pleased to report that these objectives were successfully achieved during the year. Revenue increased, allowing the charity to further its charitable aims, and the balance held in the charity's bank account also increased, providing improved financial resilience and helping to safeguard the long-term sustainability of the Village Hall.
## **Financial Review**
The trustees consider the charity's financial position to have strengthened during the year as a result of improved income generation and careful financial management.
## **Plans for the Future**
The trustees intend to continue building on the progress made during the year by supporting community activities, increasing appropriate income opportunities and maintaining prudent financial management to ensure the long-term benefit of the local community.
## **Approval**
This Trustees' Annual Report was approved by the Management Committee on 30 July 2026 for submission to the Charity Commission.

I report on the accounts of Slaidburn Village Hall (SPT) for the year ended 30[th] September 2025, as set out below.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The society’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of accounts. The society’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
- Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
- To follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
- To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “true and fair view” and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
(1) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
- To keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
- To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
Have not been met; or
- (2) To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
