**Objects:** THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ARE TO PROMOTE PUBLIC HEALTH AND TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION, IN PARTICULAR MEDICAL EDUCATION, BY:(1) IMPROVING THE KNOWLEDGE OF VIRUSES, PARTICULARLY AS IT RELATES TO THE DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF VIRAL DISEASES, THEIR PATHOGENESIS, NATURAL HISTORY AND PREVENTION;(2) IMPROVING DIAGNOSTIC METHODS;(3) PROMOTING HIGH STANDARDS IN LABORATORY VIRAL DIAGNOSIS THROUGH QUALITY ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES AND EDUCATION; AND(4) PROMOTING OR DEVELOPING PREPARATION AND EXCHANGE OF REFERENCE REAGENTS.

**Activities:** Promote public health and advance public medical education by: Improving knowledge of viruses, especially diagnosis and management of viral diseases, pathogenesis, natural history and prevention; Improving diagnostic methods; Promoting high standards in laboratory viral diagnosis through quality assessment activities, education and development of reference standards.
