TRUSTEF,S RFPORT
AUGUST 2023 - JULY 2024
The work in both Buikwe and Nalulya Village l]as been sustained and we have
manged to upk¢¢p the proFWties following a wu¢st made by Winnie for financial
assistance to repair the windows and doors and to painl both inside and extenMIIy.
This bas successfully been completed and the results w¢r¢ very satisfying. Folluwing
some repairs to th¢ borehole at Buikwe we were advised to replace the pipes with
stsintess slecl pl￿S and Mary is in the proce&8 of ohtain2ng a quote. Continuous
checking and regular maintenance is of great importance.
We have Continued to suprort the children at Lweru Children's Home and the
children at Nalulya Children's Home, as well &8 needy local elderly people. Sotne of
th¢ children hav¢ MOV￿ on to higber education leaving space for more younger
children to come.
Both homes have continued lo produce food Crops although this h&8 often becn sadly
hindered by lack of rainfall which is an ongoing problem for growing crops in Afric&
In Nakise¢ke the land is very poor for gTowing but the gardentng work is carried out
by those that live on th¢ land witb the help of the children.
We continue to be very grateful to Martin for his input at Lweru. The aim towards
self-suificiency is making progress and they are on their way lo ttcoming more self-
suffictenL
The coffee plantation has continued to k quite su¢¢¢ssful as the plants have
tIouTished despite challenges but are still prog￿55}ng well, having flowered and this
year have pmduced a crop of beans. We have enabled them lo purchage fertiliser the
trees. We have send fimds lo help with regular weeding and this has helped WAth pest
and disease control. Weedin& always being a challenge. especiajly when there is
much rain but the guards for the Home have been able to help with the weeding.
Fertilisers and mulching have proved to be very IM￿rt￿t. Intercropping Iw helped
to add to the food supply by planting maize, beans. sweet potatoes and cassav
although some th¢rc have been some failures again through lack of rain.
The coffee was harvested in April and produced an initial harvest of 308 ofcoffee
beans. The childTh were able to help with the harvesting. The fimds from this were
used to purcb&se a goat to help with keeping the ¥rdSS down. Th¢ next step is still to
plartt fruit trees along the perimeter fencing.
wilso￿ who was appointed for the tssk of overseeing the work on the land has been
very helpful in keeping us updated with the PTogr¢ss. keeping a check on the growing
successes and failures He receives our support a5 the Youth Pastor of the local
Church which the children attend and continucs to be especially helpful encouraging
the children. We were able to send funds for 2 knxes of Biblcs: one box of English

and I box of Luganda Bibles. Half of these wenl into Buikwe Prison and half were
for th¢ ChurclL
Sadly, again this year we have been unable to hold any funthaising even￿ but w¢
have continued to reGeiv¢ regular monthly donations and thc some fimds from the
mission boxc& Howcvcr wc are planning to remedy this in the future and to have
some fiJod-rnisin8.
We have also been able to continue helping the prisoners in Buikwe Priso￿ by
sending them soap, oil and salt and providing more Bibles which were r¢qu¢st¢d.
P&8tor Wilson b&8 been allowed access to the prison to preach to these young
offendeKs.
A￿)ther success sÈory is Aaron who was accepted to start a lJniver8ity Course and was
fortunate to receive a grant for this. As the children are growing older there is the
ball¢ng¢ of increasing school fees alongside other needs for trips, etc in their school
After successfully receiving NGO re-Tegi%tration we received the new ￿￿rMit dated
rrom 23, August 2023 for 5 years.
There was a planned visit eaTlieT this year from our Sup￿rterS in GernMny, but
Unfortunately this trip had to be cancelled because the relevant vis&s were not
received in time. A trip hopefully will tak¢ place next year to visit the children in
both homes.
As trustees of La7anJs Ministries, we feel. again. that we have been able to maintain
the WO￿ at both children'5 home5 duriDg this year. We ar¢ always v¢ry concerned for
the health and safety of these young childrth and youth and every effort is to
always make this our priority.
The works established in Zirnbabwe. South Afric4 Ntgeri4 Kenya, India and also in
Lahore in Pakistan are all ongoing and have continued to progress.
Wonder￿1 changes have been wrought with the blind and disabled who had been
forced to beg on the street to provide food for themselves. With regular monthly
supwrt with the fo￿ pack￿e$ they have flourished and thcir livcs havc changed for
the belier. In their monthly meetings they hold a service and have fellowship with
each other which is very encouraging for all of them. A blind m¢mber plays the guitar
for them and they all sing. When his guitsr was broken we were able to send him
replattment and bis work now continues. The work in the Care Home has also
encouragcd the ¢ldcrly and th¢ monthly food packages have helped them enorniously
as they have now become dependent on the food they receive from LMNI. Recently
we have E*en able to increase these supplies a little.
LMNI has been granted access into the prisons where a spiritual work continues to be
done with many requests for Bibles and spiritual materialshave be￿ satisfi¢d. The
Prison glwds ar¢ comm¢nting on lh¢ chang¢s for the better in the lives of some of the
inmates. We have CQDtinued to ship drums to Bulawayo being filled with much
spiritual materials and essential things rcquested.

The work in South Africa with the homeless and drng addicts conlinues and we hav¢
been able to give ihem food and drink on a monthly basis. Spiritt￿ help has been
given and in one particular case, a lady who was te5cued from begging on the streets
and helped with regular food packages and with much needed rnedical help and now
recetves help with her rent.. Where medical hclp is needed. we are able to h¢lp those
who su£TeT with conditions because they are ut)8ble to for medical help. We
continuc to extend help wherever it is needed This work h&$ extended into Nigeria
where much needeil Bibles are distributed among the poor and in the villages.
We received a grant from Souter Trust to those ID Kenya and this enablcd them to
start some agricultural fam]ing to provide fo¢)d. We also continue to send help to
Irftdia wh￿￿ therc is much work amongst the poor and wiib the Childre￿ LMNI h&8
been able to send help when rquested.
The work in Lahore. Pakistan at the Crown Help Centre bas prOs￿red gteatly where
the women go out into the community and villages to help Ex)or families with food
and teaching. We ¢ontinue to Sup[￿ them with funds on a monthly basis.
