The financial slalements have been prepared in accordance ￿th Accounting and Reporting by
Charities.. Statement of Recommended Pradice lappluble lo charities preparing their accounts in
accordance wrth the Financial Reporting Standard appluble In the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
10211 (issued In October 20191- (Charities SORP {FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republ￿ of Ireland (FRS 1021 and the Companies Act 2006.
Basis of preparation
New Forest Trust meets the deffinition of a publ￿ benefrt entty under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities
are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value un￿5 othemse slated in the relevant
accounting Folicy notes.
Going concern
The trustees ¢on$ider thal thefe are no material uncertainties about the chartys ability lo continue as
a going concein nor any significanl areas of uncertainty that affect the carrying value of assels held by
the charity.
Income and endowments
All income Is ￿cOgnised once the charrty has enlrtlement to the i1￿0Me. it is probable that the income
will be received and the amount of the income receivable Can be measured feliabty.

Donations and legacies
Donation$ are recognised when the Charty has been nolffied in writing of both the amount and
settlement date. In the event that a donatbon is subiecl to conditions that require a level of
performance by the charty before the Char￿ is ent￿ed to the funds, the income ts deferred and not
fecognised until either tI￿se conditions are fulty met, or the lutfilment of those conditions is wholly
within the of the charty and il Is probable that these conditsons will be fulf11￿ in the reporting
period.
Investment income
Investment income is recognised on a receivable basis.
Expenditure
All expenditure is ￿CogniSed once there is a legal or constru¢tive oblwjation to that expenditure, il is
probable settlement is wuire<l and the amount Can be measured rel￿bly. All costs are allocated to
the applicable expenditure heading that aggregate simikqr Costs to th* category. Where costs cannot
be ¢Jirectty attnbuted lo parti¢ular headings they have beerb alkxated on a basis consistent wlh the
use of resources, with central staff costs alk)caled the basis of lime spent, and depreciation
charges allocated on the portion of the asset'5 use. Other support costs are allocated based on the
Spread of staff costs.
Charitable activitlg$
Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of it5 activities
and se￿l¢e$ for its benelici8rEs. 11 includes both costs that can be allocated directty to such acti￿tres
and those cost$ of an indirect nature necessary lo support them.
Govemance costs
These include the costs atlributable to the eharity's compliance wlh conslit(rtional and slalulory
uiremenls, Including independent examination, sIraleg￿ rn￿ageM￿t and trustees'$ me*ts"ng$ and
reimbursed expenses.
Taxation
The charity 1$ considered to pa55 the lest5 sel out in Paragraph 1 Schedule 6 of the Finance Act 2010
and theref¢ye rt meets Ihe definition of a charitable company for UK corporation tax purposes.
Accordingly. the chanty is potentially exempl from laxalion in respect of inc¢)me or capital gains
received within categories covered by Chapter 3 Part 11 of Ihe Corporation Tax Act 2010 or Section
256 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992. to the extent that such Income or gains are
applEd exclusively lo charitable purposes.
Tangible fixed assets
Individual fixed assets costing £1.￿ or more are init01￿ recofded al Cost, less any subsequent
a¢cumul*ed depre¢ialk)n and 5ubseqiJent accumulated impairynent losse$.
On 9 Seplember 2015, the chanty was gifted a ninety nine year ￿se ¢M fifteen a¢res of land al
Rockford, Ringwood. The land was gifted wlh Ihe proviso th* it be used for the furtherance of the
practice of commoning. Due to this proviso. the land ha5 been included in the financi81 statements at
nil, being the lower of fepla¢ement cost ￿ recovefable ￿10￿nt.
